So, this is remote control, not AI?

Only the smaller Scorpion gunships, not the Dragon gunship rawr! And the Scorpions were only penetrated given the speed and strength of a Na'vi dive-bombing.

Jesus, give it up already Sculli. :lol

based on a Richard Matheson story, which was previously adapted into a pretty good Twilight Zone episode with Lee Marvin in the Jackman role.

ah man, Lee Marvin was pretty dang awesome. Shame he had to get old and die.

Oh, I'm glad it's actually based on that. I was about to come in here screaming about rip-offs :lol

This movie's going to be a wreck, btw. This seems way too focused on robot fight porn (robots look like they fell out of Reboot, might I add), and not about any actual plot. I don't remember if the TZ episode even showed any fights.

so it's the Wrestler + Transformers + foreshadowing Alita.

Yike. Also the one robot looks alot like this, almost copyright infringement territory:

Boy does this look like garbage. This is what happens when you base your movie on a stupid toy like Rock'em Sock'em Robots. I wonder how much money they pumped into this.

I like the concept but hate the way the robots fight. In basically human form. I thought the idea would be that if it's robot's fighting, the battles would be outlandish and mental.

Still interested to see it mind. But chances are it will be shit.

Just saw the previews tonight before True Grit. Jesus Christ this looks terrible. They're not even trying anymore.

I saw the trailer before True Grit, and I thought (and from the laughter and comments in the audience, everyone else who saw it in my theater) the movie looks awful. I'm sure it'll be better than Transformers 3 though, so that's at least something.

Trailer before Pirates looked ridiculous (in a bad way). This is going to be a hard sell, but it seems like they already know that with the October release date.

This movie reminded me that I have wanted for a long time to rewacht Robo Jox. Anyone remember that movie? It's the king of cheese as long as you consider it a comedy.

Robot Jox is a forgotten gem. I view it as a spiritual prequel to Starship Troopers. It is so bad, but I have to admit I've seen it about 7 times. As a joke I bought my buddy the VHS, novelization and movie poster (which still hangs in his garage).

ACHILLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I approve a summer movie that isn't a sequel or remake.

There's so many decades of awesome old sci-fi short stories you could adapt into original films.

This looks great. I will go see it to support this kind of thinking.

They seriously missed out on.. something... by not grabbing the Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots license.

I totally thought that would be the title when I saw the trailer.

Also, this movie looks hilariously bad. I hope that it gets a Rifftrax.

Probably the least popular opinion of all time, but I love the robot designs.

There is an unabashed cheesy Astroboy quality to them between the Centurion and Two-headed one. Even the "dummybot' (or whatever) seems like sort of thing Tezuka would draw as a sympathetic robot in the Astroboy universe.

Considering they could have over-designed them to look like awful Transformers ripoffs, I'm grateful they showed some restraint to that trend.

I ALREADY KILLED YOU!!! IN HERE!!!!!!!

After seeing the trailer in front of Super 8, I have to say I'm a little intrigued. It's stupid and silly, but with a fun 80’s movie vibe.

I mean, Over the Top + Robots? That's sort of awesome. Not "watch it in the theater" awesome, but definitely "watch it on Netflix while drinking" awesome.

I can't believe this movie exists. Everything about the trailer seemed like a joke to me. And then I see Hugh Jackman attached to it and I wonder if it could possibly be any good. I just dont know what to think about it.

Oddly interested in seeing this, but I think that's mostly from Jackman's presence and the idea of seeing robots punching each other for an hour or two.

I have never seen an audience laugh as hard as when they saw the preview for this film. What a joke.

I don't know...I heard them laugh pretty hard for the girl with the dragon tattoo
