I'll be the first to go out on a limb that there's no chance in fucking hell that GTA IV multiplayer has dedicated servers for hundreds of simultaneous players.

I'm guessing co-op, or at most, standard 8v8 multi.

Obviously not but from what it seems like this will still have the standard MP sized encounters. And it doesn't offer anything more than PvP which others MMO do for their monthly fees. With that said, I'm expecting this to have all the thorough tools of a standard MMO game which I'm guessing GTA4 doesn't (but GTA is also GTA, there's no chance it won't be super popular).

Looks like the game is actually starting to take shape, and with a lot of potential, too.

I'm somewhat skeptical of the raw gameplay mechanics yet and if they'll nail that while also trying to blaze the genre into a new direction at the same time, but I'm definitely looking forward to going along for the ride, nonetheless. The genre definitely needs not only new directions but also for some console and single-player devs to try shoot some life into it; we're not seeing enough from the traditional MMO devs whom keep playing it safe.

The concept is great, though I'm worried about the scope of the MMO gameplay.. I'd rather have 20 players instead of 60 at any one time, if it allows for greater physics or vehicular damage modelling. Going from the movie, the damage model is pretty limited, and the framerate is barely hanging on. Of course its probably far from release.. but still.

I wish the game had more visual charm like Crackdown... why can't it become Crackdown 2? I want superhero cops and robbers!
