Reason #72834 why old people should be retested for their driver's license

So today I'm sitting at work and I hear this car totally revving its engine. My work place is on the second floor of a building which overlooks a market and its parking lot. So I look outside and I see this car heading in reverse and it gets stuck on some plants and dirt. You can hear that the accellerator is being floored. In front of it is a white BMW which has its rear smashed up. In the car you can see through the windshield and it's an old lady. Eventually the car's wheels get traction and she goes bolting in reverse, across the street and barrels into a parked car pushing it far up on the curb and you can visually see that the rear wheel has buckled and is underneath the front of the car. Then after pushing the car far up the curb, she pulls it into drive and takes off. The thing is, going straight down the direction she's going is sort of a dead end as it leads to a parking for a train station. The only other way to go is to make an immediate left which apparently she did and must have lost control because her car slammed into the corner wall of an apartment complex. Wish I had a digital camera here to take snapshots as its still out there with the police and fire department. I don't think I've ever seen anything that crazy in person before. Man you hear about it on the news, but it's kinda freaky to see it in person. Thankfully it looks like she didn't hit anyone and it looked like she was ok when the fire department pulled her out.

I can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to pass someone (when you legally can't pass) while you are behind some old fart going 15mph and the other side of the road is clear.

my grandfather can barely see.. and he received his renewed license in the mail.. he didnt have to do anything.. they just sent it to him.. :/

i sat at a gas station and filled my car up , at least 15 gallons. in that time and old man walked from his car to the station to pay and it took him 5 minutes at least, to walk 50 FEET. theres no way his reflexes are up to speed. after 55 you need to test every year i say

it should be reason #34095723098756404350923109572035098230523

our driver's license policy in this country is moronic. people who are physically unable to be aware of their surroundings can get a licesnse without nary a delay in the process.

Blame the AARP.

I wonder if it'll be on the news tonight. I didn't see any reporters but it was good to see how quickly the police and fire department responded. If you're in the bay area, watch the news to see if it makes it.
