Recommend me a decent fantasy RPG for PS5

Hey gaf, can you recommend me a good fantasy RPG that's playable on PS5. Don't recommend Witcher 3 or Skyrim please.

Things I'm looking for:
- Dark fantasy
- No stupid fucking colour palette or art direction (avowed, Veilguard etc)
- Good dialogue options
- Doesn't have to be new, even if it's for an older console but ticks the boxes, that's fine.
- Characters that aren't fucking cringe

That's it. That's all I'm looking for. I just want a good dark fantasy game that's made by people who actually like video games. Thanks.

Final Fantasy 16
Metaphor Refantazio

I think you probably didn't need those obvious answers (W3, BG3, Elden Ring etc.).

I really had a great time with GreedFall. It was apparent low budget and Euro jank, but the story and vibe were very captivating. The combat was serviceable either.

Dark you say ?
Lords of the fallen is some of the darkest shit I've played these last few years, the art direction is just sublime and I can't stress that enough.

Granted it's your typical souls-like ARPG so no dialogue options etc but if you're looking for something Grimdark look no further, shit's G-R-I-M

Co sign, played this a year or two back. Is pretty good for an AA effort.

You might have to compromise a bit on the dialogue part.

As mentioned, if you haven't played BG3, you are missing out.

Also Mass Effect collection or Elden Ring might work. I know ME is scifi but they are very much dark fantasy rpgs too, in a way.

I LOVED the OG Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. BBI is one of the best areas ever in a game.

Bloodborne.

The game you're looking for doesn't exist.

But you can try

Baldurs Gate 3
Divinity Original Sin 2
Final Fantasy 16
Dragon Age Origins, II and Inquisition
Kingdom Come Deliverance I and II
Vampyr
GreedFall
Metaphor ReFantazio
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
Gothic
Kingdoms of Amalur
Disco Elysium

Edit: It exists, but it's called Witcher 3

I suppose it's more of an Action Adventure with a vague RPG skin. But it checks the rest of your boxes.
Also, it's pretty old. Even though I loved it (the original) at the time, it might feel very outdated now.

BG3 is the obvious pick, altough it doesn't lean torwards dark fantasy all that much.

There is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, but it isn't fantasy.

Among classic ones, you can try Planescape: Torment

Does it have to be "fantasy" ?
Kingdom Come 2 is the best medieval non-cartoony RPG around, and history is much more interesting than any fantasy lore bullshit.

For me at least, I dont play games for "realism" I want to sunk in to fantastical settings and I personally REALLY not in to first person melee combat.

Actually got this free on ps plus so might check it out.
It's actually a very very good game. I would say character power development and spell casting progression is better vs BG3. It's also dark like heck.

Another option is Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader. Great game and it's fantasy-ish.

Great rec, I loved nier automata but forgot about this one. Thanks.
I loved nier automata but i'd recommend some caution with replicant. The side-quests aren't nearly as interesting, neither is the exploration, and combat is also a step-down from automata (which already had its issues in the first place)

Conan Exiles, although it doesn't have a driving narrative story, it does have a really well established backstory/lore since it's based on a series of dark/low fantasy books.

I'd also recommend keeping an eye out on the upcoming Gothic remake.

Divinity Original Sin 2, Banishers Ghost of New Eden, Dragon Age Inquisition (I liked it)

Banishers is a really good one. Such a shame most people slept on it. A very unique game with an amazing setting. I have very fond memories of it.
