I don't know if it's chill-out enough, but I still love the Wipeout soundtracks. 2097, XL, etc. are still some of the best Electronica albums ever, in my mind, and if you haven't heard them for a while, they bring back some great vg memories.

Non-gaming, NYC Underground Party 5, Tranceport (must have), Clubland 4, and a lot of the Trance AllStar's compilations are actually really good. I'm not that current on newer stuff now, but all these are pretty classic.

As far as tencho music, I don't know, I haven't heard of that. :D

I don't know if you're a casual trance fan, but check out DJ Tiesto - Parade of the Athletes and Armin van Buuren - State of Trance 2004.

Also, check out the best trance radio on the WWW: www.di.fm

Check out Underworld, they have a compilation album out there titled Underworld 1992-2002. Has a good selection of most of their great tracks. From there on out, check out A hundred days off, another one of their albums.

Off the top of my head some of my favorite tracks from them.

Dark and Long
Cherry Pie
Dirty Epic
Born Slippy
Pearls Girl
Jumbo
Shudder/King of Snakes

Dark and long is simply outstanding as well as Shudder and Born Slippy. Dark and long and born Slippy were featured in the movie Trainspotting, not sure about the soundtrack. If you want chill out look now further then Cherry Pie, that song is just brilliant and flows with what ever computer tech stuff your working on. Just love that track. Oh my god, how could I forget this song. Definately check this one out.

Two months off

I absolutely adore that song. Oh and have you checked out the chemical brothers? I'm currently infatuated with Star Guitar. Thats definately one track to check out from them. Have to tell you, I soooo love Star Guitar, has me in a daze and made me feel so great one day when I woke up to that song playing.

some sort of progressive trance for chilling out IMO. Who? I don't know...
go to www.shoutcast.com and listen on the trance radio stations. You'll probably find what you want and maybe something else too.

For chill out, why not go with a classic?

Chill Out by the KLF awaits you.

You really need Space to go with that, the Orb album that never was due to Jimi and Alex falling out, Jimi subsequently erased most of the Alex sourced samples and released it as Space. Also, the Chill Out Orb remix and made@3AM coming down off E are worth finding.

This was all news to me; I'm definately on the case. Meanwhile, for proto chill out, I've been listing to Eno's old ambient stuff lately.

If you are open minded enough to give a try to a Spanish compilation which melts pretty good IMO both chill out and flamenco, you should try Chambao's Flamenco Chill.
