Recommended DS screen protectors?

I heard HORI is the best, but wanted to see what GAF users thought.

I want something which doesn't have any sticky glue, esp if it leaves a residue when you try to remove it. Can someone tell me how the Hori ones work?

The stickyness is the important factor, but its affect on gameplay is also something I'm considering, visuals and touch sensitiivity are things which concern me.

Any comments are welcome from people who have knowledge/experience.

(This is all in preparation for that circle spinning thing from Ouendan! The finger-selecting koma in JSS too) Hopefully have both games next week. You can buy JSS with pre-order thing for £35 on ebay, not a bad deal as he marks value down and labels it as gift so you avoid customs.

Is this really a concern? I play my DS quite a bit lately and I never worry about the screen. There are no scratches or anything. It's not a high quality screen and even using the stylus pretty vigorously doesn't seem to bother it.

All I hear of is stories of the residue left behind after removing most of them, I just figured they weren't worth it.

Taking good care of the touch screen is enough protection, for me anyways. :p

Haven't tried the Hori, but the NuShield DS Screen Protectors worked like a charm for me:

+No adhesive

+Slips underneath the edges of the screen borders like the glass in a picture frame

+Doesn't move during gameplay, yet easy to remove.

+Great clarity and sensitivity

I tell you that NuShield is the best. They are better than even the Hori, judging by what I've read online (and experienced using the NuShield).

Some testimonials:

lol thanks tedman, appreciate it. Just that The place I'm ordering the games is also selling hori's so wante dto know the details, but guess I will search around for some nushields. just what i been looking for.

Brando brand protectors here. i had one of their protectors on my Clie for a good nine months and just removed it a couple of days ago and it came cleanly off. i've also got one on the touch screen (they also give you one for the top screen...) on my DS. Very clear, and it provides a nice pseudo-paper feel to the screen that i prefer much better than the super slick feel of the stock screen.

It wont get scratched. Just dont use a car key for the stylus.

One game of Feel the Magic says your wrong. My DS got owned :(

For PSP Hori is the Best, I am going to pic up a new DS along with the Hori Protectors tomorrow :)

I don't know if it is just my Hori, but it looks very scratched up. I have rougher spots where I rub the most. Sometimes I can rub them out w/ a non-abrasive cloth but they just come back when I rub again :(

bah, any good places to buy NuShield ones from? Can only see the actual NuShield website and I'd prefer to shop around abit

I ordered this a few weeks ago, and it's almost perfect. They have 2 types, the anti-glare ones and the crystal clear. Since I play a lot of my DS in my car, I went with the anti-glare.

Pretty easy to put, and it comes with a cloth to clean your screen.

I didn't have much problems putting them on my screens, you'll only have to make sure to be in a dust-free environment as much as possible. If you miss it the first time, just put a small tape on the corner to remove it. You can also clean it under water and cover the sticky surface with scotchtapes before putting it back to remove the dust that accumulated while handling it.

Mine has some bubbles on the top screen, but only in some corners so no big deal. The one at the bottom is almost perfect.

They're somewhat expensive though, 12.95$ US for a single pack. And I recommend to buy yourself an air can duster if you don't have one already. It helps a lot.
