Red Dead Redemption 2 Enhanced Edition

First Days Gone getting some deserved love and now hopefully this. Who knows, we might even see something for Bloodborne, right?

If this is real, can't help it would need to be done and released by about March. Can't see them wanting to have it dropping within the 2 month hype cycle for GTA VI.

Having said that, if it is imminent, then that means a large bump before fiscal end, and then a huge one in Q1 of fiscal 26

Will the gameplay and mission design get enhanced, too? :messenger_hushed: Genuinely one of the most detailed and visually stunning games I've ever played, but holy shit does it suffer from the (by now) ancient GTA-styled mission structure.
Most of the missions can be summarized as: arrive at point to start mission, dialogue on foot, mission briefing on horseback, arrive at destination, shit goes down, gunfire ensues, pew pew pew, make your escape, return to camp.
After the 50th time, it gets stale. Rockstar has done fuck all to their mission design since literally the GTA 3 times which was made when the US still had the Twin Towers.

it's amazing how well Rockstar can milk out of their games
Do they though ?

They remastered the original GTA Trilogy like 20+ years after their original release, they ported Red Dead Redemption 1 on Switch, PS4 and then one year later to PC after being untouched for 13 years, while you still have games like Bully, GTA IV + its expansions or Max Payne 3 still stuck on older hardware or clunky PC ports. And Red Dead Redemption released 7 years ago, without even a 60fps patch for current gen.

And I'm not even talking about smaller games like Manhunt, Midnight Club, etc which we haven't seen the sight of for decades.

im still hate the weapon holster system in this game, fucking stupid.

I think Red Dead Redemption Enhanced or rather 60 FPS Edition for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will happen as PC did eventually get a port of Red Dead Redemption which many people thought would never happen.

However, if it does happen that I suspect that Rockstar will sell this as a standalone current gen release at $30-$50 rather than as a free or a $10 upgrade to the PS4 / Xbox One versions because that just isn't their way.

Lots of cool mods on PC. Never played the game much but want to, not sure I should wait for this edition if it's going to break all mods.

Never got through this game (adored the first one), even though the immersion factor & presentation were second to none.

It's also the only game in history I ever played at 30 on console and then again at 60fps on PC and it made barely any difference at all outside of being more visually fluid. The animations are so slow, drawn out and sluggish across nearly every action it still feels like treacle. No amount of extra fps changes the fact Arthur Morgan takes 10 seconds to search a drawer, mount a horse, jump, roll, search a corpse etc

Yes so they can get on with RDR3 💪
Why would they bother spending a decade in development for a measly 40-50 million copies sold when they can keep vomitting content for GTA6 online? This is where the real money is unfortunately.

I guess I hope they do a good job, but Read Dead 2 graphically holds up REALLY well that I don't know what more they can really do besides I guess full path-traced lighting ala Cyberpunk 2077.

Honestly wish Rockstar would just remaster some of their older games like Bully, Midnight Club 3 or The Warriors. Think they could benefit from them more, and I miss when they made those kinda games.

Because they can make money on both and raise prestige as creatives and a company. Shitting out GTA slop for kids (lets face it that is who plays gta online, the annoying high pitched ones who are still going through puberty, or the other annoying type who blast rap music in the background while their mom screams at them), doesn't look good as a legacy. It's fine for making money but its better to diversify your income streams and creative output.

Already played enhanced edition on my PC few years ago, not paying for next gen patch.
While I agree with the sentiment, after experiencing the GTA V Enhanced Edition on PC I disagree. RDR2 can absolutely benefit from some ray tracing love. GTA looks like 6 already with the ray tracing and Natural Vision Enhanced modded in. I want that for RDR2. My 5090 demands it.
