We soent years asking for a remake/remaster if this, now were getting bombarded with the fuckers. I love it though, to soon for a replay though as just played it on ROG ally this year.

At lease they offer free upgrade

This is definitely the "lead-up" to RDR2 announcement. There better be an upgrade path or they can fuck right the fuck off with this shit.

there was no native PS5 version.
also no Xbox One version whatsoever, since it was back compat they didn't bother.
now all owners of the Xbox 360 version get an upgrade for Series X and also have access to 60fps (previously it was 4k 30fps through back compat).

I guess the PS5 version is a bit nonsensical... but, I mean... can't hurt lol.

Very nice. Wouldn't expect this from Rockstar but nicely done.

What I don't get is why the switch 2 would need DLSS to get to 60 FPS for this old game.

who says it needs it? it's the best TAA solution on the market. but also reaching 4k 60fps is probably not possible on Switch 2 level hardware. meaning DLSS does make sense here for performance reasons as well

I feel like I just replayed this...whenever that original remaster dropped.

If there's a fresh trophy list it'd definitely be enticing to play through it for the 11th time. No lies detected :messenger_grinning:

So soon!

In regards to your question, depends on what resolution Switch 2 is and whether this is for handheld or TV mode.

Edit: oops I originally read the title as RDR2

The Series version makes a lot of sense but this "free upgrade" that you already have for PS5 is like: "Ey, love your stuff? Guess what? We're giving it to you! Again. Your stuff. That you already own. But we permit it. Like before. But now we permit it as well."

Rockstar are like Bethesda in the sense of re-releasing stuff when we just want something new

So between GTAIV and RDR2 they chose to port a game that already runs at 4k60fps to the PS5......

double platinum tho? probably? even cheatable basically as you can import your save 🤣

Well for free I'm in. I played through the base game when they did the 60fps patch for PS5 but never played Undead Nightmare (played it on release and remember really liking it) so maybe I'll do a play through for that.

Also saw this
"These new console versions — created in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games — will also be available in the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on December 2."

So I guess we got the first December PS+ game.

Currently £15.99 on Loaded for the Switch download code.

No. They released a port to the PS4 and Switch recently as the game was locked to PS3 on Sony's platforms.
What was the PC one released recently was it this?

Nice bought it last week on the Switch 2. Can't believe we'll get an update. Going to wait with my playthrough.

I'm confused isn't this out already

there was a PS4 and Switch 1 version.

they now add PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. previously it was only on Xbox through Xbox 360 backwards compatibility... which was 4K 30fps, and for a long time the best way to play it, but this new version finally also gives Xbox players a 60fps version.

Why has GTA IV been skipped over multiple times? This is the third time they've enhanced RDR while GTA IV has yet to receive a single update for newer consoles.

GTA4 is apparently an absolute shitshow under the hood. RDR1 was too afaik, but to a lesser degree.

so I assume GTA4 is really hard to fix and port over. I'm just happy that we have a version that is somewhat stable and runs at 60fps now on Series X|S.
just a shame it's stuck at its low original resolution.

Android version is surprising

I'll definitely pick it up to play it on mu Odin 2

Please do GTA IV next, Rockstar

Love this game so much, but it would've been awesome to see them do a bit more to it in terms of visuals and performance. I know there were rumors of a full on "remaster" or something that resembled RDR1 but more so RDR2 visual-wise. It gave people larger expectations, but maybe it was just this all along. I wonder how long it's been done. A part of me wonders if this was a project that has been done for awhile and they were just sitting on it. I mean, maybe it was planned for this quarter this whole time. But announcing it after announcing the delay of their next huge game to try to sway negativity feels almost too coincidental.

At least it's a free upgrade for a lot of platforms. Biggest redeeming factor IMO.

Already played the PS4 version. They fucked up when it launched, but thankfully added a 60 fps mode with one of the patches.

I mean the game was already running at max res on Switch 1 and could already hit 60fps with some tweaking , and games like Zelda runs which are more demanding than RDR are running at 1440p@60fps, so I don't really see the need to use DLSS but what do I know
