DEATHLOOP was a puzzle game with a single solution that people tried to play as an immersive sim first-person-murder-shooter. It just wasn't that at all (there are no boss battles and you can kill everything without firing a single bullet) which is a far cry from DH or even PREY (but definitely DH). Which makes sense given that DL was produced by a different internal studio.
DL for me, other than a kind of cop-out ending, was one of the best games I've played in a while and I'm still slowly working through figuring out the rest of the games mysteries and "side stories." But yes, at the end of the day it's a puzzle game and I imagine a lot of folks playing either didn't clock that or figured "That's okay so long as I can make chaos."

Loved Deathloop and am always on board for more Arkane but the more I see from Redfall the more I get kind of worried. Some of the gunplay seems rather under cooked to say the least and while I'm a fan of the art style I do think some of the areas seem far too empty compared to what we've come to expect from the studio. Still eager to check out the full game myself but even as an Arkane fanboy my hype levels are definitely diminishing.

InFamous always kinda had a Cartoony horror vibe to it, at least with the first two games. Kinda miss that a little. Redfall has that unique vibe too which I dig.

It was a great design.
But too hand holdy for my taste. First 4 hours are just a tutorial. Also they spell out the solution for you once you have collected all the clues. Just that one bit would have swayed me completely.
But overall still worth a playthrough.

I've said it before, but I'm really looking forward to this mostly because it seems like the world is way smaller, denser than most open world games. It looks like each location has its own unique look and not just a bunch of repeated assets. Also it helps that I have no problems with the visuals and the fact that it's Arkane Austin's follow up to Prey seals the deal for me. No way I am not playing it day 1.

Stealth is not reliable in Deathloop till you get blink and invisibility.
After that it just becomes a matter of knowing a level.
