What about Super Bowl wins? He has more of those than anybody else too.

Is coming through in the clutch overrated too?

No, he has zero super bowl wins.

He played on a team with 52 other players and dozens of coaches.

Roger Federer he ain't.

Wide receivers used stickum back in the day

LT probably played all coked because the Giants admitted they knew about his

I’m guessing being a all time great he would be fine, he is more a prototypical old school pocket passer with great accuracy and when in his prime very good arm strength ( still pretty good ).
Yep, and they pine tar it sometimes now as well.

Bullshit. QB always gets the credit and you're being obtuse by denying it. 6 rings, count em. Brady isn't overrated. Just GOAT things.

As somebody who has a great deal of admiration for Federer, he has been choking for a few years. How many tournament points did he choke away to Novak at Wimbledon in the 2019 final? Couldn't be Tom.

No, I'm offended by the idea that a teams success can be attributed to a single player.

I actually like Brady. But he's no GOAT.

Dan Marino was way better.
Dan The Man was a precision freak.

All I know is the so called greatest is 0-2 against Eli in the Super Bowl.

Oh, and the Falcons choking against Tom in the Super Bowl was hilarious.

By talking heads like Skip Bayless and Steven A Smith...yes. ESPN rates players by team success.

Actual talent evaluators like college scouts and pro scouts give significantly less credit to single players based on team success.

Choose your group. I choose the people paid to evaluate talent.

And how exactly are you going to prove that ?
Sure probably DM was physically more gifted with a quick release but just look at the stats

It's impossible to prove anything. You can't even prove Roger Federer was better than Pete Sampras and that's a one person sport.

All we can do is make cases. Dan Marino played in era when passing was significantly harder. His stats can't be compared to Tom Brady. It's much more effective to compare Dan Marino's stats to the best QBs in his era, and Tom Brady's stats to the best QBs in his era. Dan Marino comes out ahead in that area.

I also think Matt Cassell playing like Tom Brady was a massive knock on Brady's during 2008. If your team doesn't skip a beat without you, you can't be considered GOAT.

What does Matt Cassell have to do with anything ?
Whatever you think of him he was a good enough to be a starting NFL QB.

Marino retired in 1999 and Brady first started in 2000, that argument about timelines really doesn’t add up considering the both played basically the same time.....the game didn’t drastically change that much a few years apart.

Tom Brady got hurt. Matt Cassell came in and gave the Patriots 93.7 percent of what Tom Brady gave them.

You're not the GOAT if you can be replaced so easily by Matt Cassell.

Matt Cassell sucks.

When Barry Sanders gets hurt, the Detroit Lions are like "Sheeeeeiiiiit".

You like watching losers play, 1-4 in Championship games . OK

Your delusional , he is going to have 10 SB appearances and going for a 7th ring....yeah highly overrated :pie_roffles:

To be fair thats more on Belichick‘s and has nothing to do with Brady.

All I see is a QB that has crushed the hearts and dreams of most of the NFL and pissed off fans that are jealous.
Any of these guys crying about Brady would kill to have him on there team.
Haters going to hate but you can’t deny the results.

What do you care who I like to watch play QB? You gave a record like I didn’t know. Enjoy his game and the way he plays.

I would still like to see how these QBs would perform pre-rules era, where they would go after QBs like snipers and before WRs were treated with don't touch kid gloves on coverage. Which was ironically changed with Brady coming up hence the "Brady Rules" the league called them.

Better yet, the greats that had to deal with players like LT and the like, brought into the new era of rules. But we will never know. Maybe they can make AI programs for that.

It depends. Just because they allowed more contact doesn’t make them the best. Ever seen the Phil Simms fitness tapes from the 1980’s? Players are physically built specimens these days. They’re fucking huge now and ripped to shit. They really can’t get any bigger or stronger than now.

Rogers has all the talent in the world it’s too bad he’s such a whiny bitch throwing his coach and team under the bus.
If he is the goat, there's got be some form of hell to pay for him only having one SB.. he's leading the league in so many categories year in, year out, something else must be royally letting him down~

I'd like to see him go to one of these teams who are an epic QB short of greatness.. would be interested to see him go to the patriots... But that's all just random musings

Dan Marino only won one Super Bowl compared to Brady's six, lol

At last he was good in Ace Ventura

Along with Brady's career total #'s being significantly higher than Marino's...

Career passer rating - Brady: 97.3 Marino: 86.4
Adj. Net YPA - Brady: 7.1 Marino 6.55
Comp. % - Brady 64.0% Marino 59.4%
Int. % - Brady 1.8% Marino 3.0%

Brady leaves the Patriots and goes to the Superbowl. The Pats finish 7-9.

What a joke.

You know where a good fit would be , NO .
They need a good QB and that would pretty much put them over the top.

I voted the second option cause it was funnier. That said, being a panthers fan, I'm still bitter about super bowl 38, but at least Tom and the gang humiliated the Falcons. Few things are better sports related than watching Atlanta based sports teams choke or move to Canada.

I've already addressed why you can't compare patty cake era QB stats with those from the 80s and 90s.

The Patriots had the most Covid exemptions of any team in the NFL this year. Meaning no other team had more entire year sit outs than New England.

Also, this year the Patriots had the fourth lowest payroll in the league.

But the talking heads on ESPN won't tell you any of this stuff because they prefer turning individual players into demigods for the masses.

Yeah, that's what it is. You're the informed genius and I'm just some dumb know-nothing who can't form his own opinion.

Excuses, excuses.

They're both at or near the top of their in era in most categories. You know how I break a tie (lol @ this being close to a tie in the first place) between players in this situation? Which one wins. This isn't even close. Just win, baby.

I'll add another stat for you.

Appearances in Ace Ventura - Marino: 1 Brady: 0

Have some god damn respect. We're talking about Dan FUCKING Marino here.

As a Bucs fan most of my life.... I am just happy we finally got here. I don't really care who brought us to this point. Also glad that Jameis is gone. He wouldn't be able to pull off what Brady did. It was bittersweet beating the Saints during the third and most important go around.

Brady did cheat even though it isn't a huge infraction. He should have just admitted it and took a slap on the wrist. He tried to lie his way out of it and for that reason I am happy he got more harshly penalized.
