Well nothing happened.

Here is an article about it

The informal state of emergency declaration follows a pattern for the Trump administration. Much like his recent tweets about banning transgender people from the military or his early executive orders about cracking down on crime, Trump’s opioid gambit has been — at least so far — all flash and no substance, attracting attention without making any major policy changes. On the day of Trump’s announcement in Bedminster, CNN and many other major media outlets ran misleading headlines that suggested the state of emergency had already been made official simply by virtue of Trump’s decree.

Yeah its getting to the point where people are starting to just roll their eyes whenever they hear him blubbering on about this or that thing that caught his attention or pissed him off. I figure in another year or so a lot of people will be out right ignoring him, not out of spite but out of boredom. He's basically going to turn into the boy who cried wolf.

Remember when he accused the former president of tapping his phones? People were actually taking him seriously back then. Now it's like "Trump said this rediculous thing." and everyone just moves on.

It's called pandering. He doesn't really give a shit and he's not going to do anything to help those people.

It's almost like he constantly says things through unofficial channels and doesn't do anything about them or something

Essentially the presidential equivalent of thinking just yelling bankruptcy counts as declaring bankruptcy.

You expected otherwise from the man who coined the term "fake news"?
All style and zero substance is the only credo he understands.

He didn't coin the term, he appropriated it. Misappropriated it, really.

Funnily enough, bankruptcy is one area where I think Trump is probably an expert.

Absolutely nobody should be surprised by this. It's not just that the orange fuck is who he is, there is also the fact that pharma lobby is strong.

Also for real Cheeto only said something because it's effecting white people.

All of these are and must be kept in permanent records for people to study later. An entire field of study will probably have to be invented just to go over all of Trump's documents and pronouncements.

I'm currently in a drug and alcohol psychology class and the professor is currently talking about the opioid crisis. He actually made a powerpoint of what Trump is planning to do to solve this. Man, he is gonna be so upset that he wasted 5 minutes making that slide for lecture.

Possibly worse. At least the boy was just making shit up for attention, he sees a problem or "problem", yells something out, then does nothing. Like if the boy who cried wolf was also supposed to shoot or chase off the wolf but doesn't do it, just wants to look busy by going "there's a wolf!"
