:(

Incredible image. Makes me feel down. :(

I want the first Bombcast after Ryan's death to already be over. I want to move on, but until then, I will think about my phantom friend Ryan and hope to god that somehow the next bombcast opens up with him say "Hey everyone, it's Tuesday..."

Wouldn't anyone else be upset if they changed the bombcast to Wednesday(recorded on Tuesdays or Wednesdays)? That way, no one would have to say "It's Tuesday" and that honor remains Ryans?

That was beautiful. I too didnt realise he held the GB guys in such a high regard, its going to take the industry a long time to get over this

Giant Bomb will never be the same for me, but I have confidence the lads will continue on and do what they do best.

He has mentioned plenty of times in his podcast and videos that he listens every week. His twitter was stacked with him calling people ignorant fucks for asking "...Who?" yesterday.

Surprised he didn't belittle it by comparing it to some foreign social issue.

Shit it just hit me that Ryan died just before the next generation of consoles hit.

Somehow that makes it all the more depressing.

I think they should keep doing it as they always have. Just without Ryan unfortunately. No need to change the day just because Ryan isn't there to announce it's Tuesday. Let's not go overboard with things.

I said in the other thread, but I imagine Ryan is looking down on that, stoked that somebody has made graffiti inspired by him somewhere. Seems like something that'd excite him

So I listened to the first 30mins of the 06-25 bombcast on the way to work this morning which was Ryan's last. Him talking about near death experiences in moving arcade cabinets was just surreal

He controlled the conversation of those bombcasts with perfection, how he seamlessly transitioned from Patrick moving to Chicago and onto the Reno discussion and many others.

Listening to that bombcast, you would have never imagined that this great man would not be with us only a week afterwards

Man, he will be sorely missed :*(

In a way, it's reminded me how lucky we are that this is such a young industry. We so rarely have to deal with the passings of those we admire and respect unless it's someone gone way to young, like Ryan, or someone from the very early days of gaming.

We should cherish these days, they won't last forever.

I've thought about this as well. Movies have had 100+ years of history and have had absolutely historic and important people come and go. It's going to be a sad day in gaming when someone like shigeru miyamoto dies, and then soon all the people who helped build this industry wont be around anymore. It's crazy to think how young this industry is, and 3D gaming has only been around for about 20 years. I can't even begin to imagine how gaming is going to evolve 50 years from now.

I'm sorry if this seems creepy or morbid, but I was looking at his Gamertag from XBL.

sigh.

I can't remember when, but I feel like they gave talked about death and social media on the Bombcast before. But no one thinks about it happening to them.

I think the one image that made me the saddest so far was Patricks twitter picture of the Jurassic Park games he got in the mail on Monday.

TB was really nice and respectful when he was talking about Ryan and Giant Bomb. Dude sounded like he was gonna cry. Pretty cool to hear he's a GB fan as well.

That image and the "maybe next time buddy" did me in.

I'm thinking of making a tread along the lines of "I'm getting a Giant Bomb subscription, who else?", would it be in poor taste? I'm very ambivalent about it so if you guys think it would be in poor taste, I'll just skip it. It wouldn't be some kind of huge charity drive like 8bit tried to do, just a small thread encouraging people to support the GB guys in the best way we can right now. So, unnecessary and in poor taste or ok?

I let my subscription lapse in February and have been considering re-upping for a while, but finally pulled the trigger last night after watching a bunch of the featured Ryan videos. Part of it was out of wanting to support these guys, show my thanks for all of the entertainment over the years, and also because the video player for free members on their site is hot garbage.

I've never really been affected by a celebrity death before but the passing of Ryan Davis has definitely bummed me out. I loved his sense of humor, his style of writing and just his personality in general. Thanks for being awesome, duder.

Someone should print out a massive sign of Ryan's face and hang it on the side of the building opposite the GB office, so we can all see it on the 'I Love Mondays' videos.....if their crappy camera can adjust to the changes in light sources correctly

Don't think there is anything wrong with showing them we have their backs more than ever and we will continue to support the site Ryan dedicated so much time and energy too.

Your intentions are good, but this is probably a bad idea.
