I don't see why it should remain private if it's nothing embarrassing. They know we all care about Ryan; it would be nice if they let us knew.
Holy crap.

See my comment above. Stop being selfish. It's not about you or the community, asking them to release information they're not comfortable in releasing just to have your own self centered closure is rude and needless. They'll release it when they want to release it.

Sure, but you don't need to be an asshole about it.

.You all care about Ryan, but also don't own him, and his family and friends don't owe you this information either.
Well you probably won't find out. It is very typical for causes of death to remain private, as they should be, if you aren't friends/family. If it were something more serious you would know by now.
I lost my shit at Chris Rock as Patrick.Brad just posted this on Twitter

It's very atypical to not know the cause of death of someone who has so many followers.

I'd get the hostility if someone was demanding to know and getting mad at the family for not saying, but Authentic simply shared what would personally help him move on and everyone jumps down the guys' throat.
And this is why people are irritated by it. So many have acted like they deserve to know the information. I understand curiosity, but the privacy of family and friends is something that shouldn't be questioned. Honestly, I don't understand why it's so important to know those details. His obliviousness as to why Ryan's family would want to keep the matter private irked me.
Why does everyone get so freaking hostile when some one brings up that question? I fully understand the reasoning behind keeping the information private, but is it so hard to understand that lots of people felt like Ryan was a friend even if they never knew him? And for some it would help if they knew? It has nothing to do with morbid curiosity.

It's fine to want to know the cause and to ask, but when we have an answer from his father and people continue to pry and ask for more information is when people get irritated. I think some people in this thread that have been following it from the announcement might be quicker to anger since they've seen the question asked more than people coming to the thread relatively recently.

is his father's tweet. If people are wondering why I'm so irate, look above to what he's replying to. I'm in that camp.
Speculation is needless, the only thing that should really matter is that we all lost a really funny and awesome guy.
I didn't speculate as to his death.
It would really help me move on, knowing what happened...
I'm kind of hating the back and forth because I feel like this is really derailing the topic, but if I have to spell it out.

I'll just say this. It's not easy to determine a cause or manner of death, especially considering it was natural causes. I don't want to post this, but I feel like it might be needed since people don't understand. It sounds like Ryan's death was unattended and we know the death was from natural causes. A county coroner is not going to walk into a scene of an uattended death, look at a dead body and magically determine the guy's cause of death unless there's obvious clues like the body having a bullet wound to the head or a bunch of heroin and hypodermic needles laying around. It's not like television or the movies. There are countless ways people can die of natural causes. It's not like they walk into a scene where a guy died in his sleep and say something like "Well, Bob, clearly judging by the dilation of his pupils and the fact he is wearing one sock means this man died of kidney failure."
Hell, they might not even know at this point or ever know unless they do an autopsy. I mean, where I live, they'll automatically do an autopsy if it's an unattended death just to rule out foul play, but we're talking about California. I'm not even sure they'd do an autopsy if his death was from natural causes. They might just leave it at that. They are probably going to prioritize the autopsy of the guy down the street that got brutally murdered over guy who died in his sleep. Even if an autopsy was done, it often takes weeks or months to get a report back. Then there's toxicology screens and everything. All you need to know is that the death certificate probably reads death of natural causes. That should comfort you.
The reason why most celebrieties' causes of death are known is because they are usually obvious. You don't need to do an autopsy to determine that, say, Curt Kobain blew his head off.
The guy died of natural causes. Unless a death involves foul play or something nefarious, we have no right to know what caused it. I'd just say respect the privacy of his friends and family. It's not something they should have to release or let other people know unless they want to.
what about slugs like myself who want to learn from what has ailed others in hopes of preventing/avoiding it.

Go learn from the thousands of other people who die every day.

Nah, it was gross the way he was all like "if they have nothing to hide they should just release it."
People need to realize that whatever they've built up in their minds, they don't actually know him, they weren't part of his life, they just saw him at work via the internet. If you genuinely had respect for him move on, let the grieving family be, and stop telling them how they should handle their lives to make you feel better.
what if i paralleled him in many ways and am not too far behind in age, 4~5 years. curiosity is natural but the explanation of not having an answer like foul play is understandable. i would still be interested to learn why though, call me a monster.

You might be interested, but you don't get to decide that and it's tacky to really bring it up. The way it's been handled by the family, an expectation of privacy past what has been shared is implied.what if i paralleled him in many ways and am not too far behind in age, 4~5 years. curiosity is natural but the explanation of not having an answer like foul play is understandable. i would still be interested to learn why though, call me a monster.
