Now come on Manabyte, what is 'take a tour' material? That's not a shot from Episode Three is it? Seriously, you have no shame. I've avoided pretty much anything to do with Episode Three, a stark contrast to my Episode Two days where I sunk to the depths of theforce.net, and I innocently came here for just a simple date. This time its just the trailers and nothing else! And I've done a pretty smooth job of losing my interest in the prequels... ;) I know nothing about Episode Three.
Anyway I can't wait for my first look, and it just happens to occur on my 18th birthday, November 4th in Australia, right?

Ah yes, I can't wait myself. So close and I've heard mighty good things about the trailer from descriptions. I may eventually go and see the movie in theaters, I've planned on doing it anyways, but the trailer made me feel more into doing it. Sure it'll be out on the net already, but I've never seen a single Star Wars trailer in a theater, I might as well see one before it's too late.

Screw the doubters.

Palpatine

Incredibles is going to rule

The trailer is going to rule

Episode III is going to rule

if you doubt any of these you obviously don't love movies.

that is all.

I've watched the new "Making episode 3" webdoc : becoming obi-wan. In episode 3, let me tell you, Ewan will own all. It looks like he'll act much more like Alec guiness and that way they'll be bridging the gap between the two movies. Also some lines from Episode 4 are used in epsiode 3.
"Well, hello there"
as an exemple.

Revenge of the Sith teaser + Boundin' + The Incredibles = best night out at the theater in a very long time

Fixed so that I can agree.

So sad. Some of you guys need to watch the trilogy again, they were cheesy and corny as fuck. They were just fun rides with cool action. That is all the star wars movies have ever been.

Well the OT were also well told stories with relatable characters and a cast that had good chemistry.

I don't think something irrelevant/silly would have such an impact with subsequent generations.

They're "fun" movies to be sure, but that doesn't automatically mean they're "stupid" movies.

I watched it again lately, and I would agree with you if they were all like ROTJ. But they're not.

Completely agree, and many would argue that ESB was not like that, and I would agree with that also. ROTS Is shaping up to be more and more like ESB in terms of tone, but even in a more dark sense. Everyone has said this, from the start tot he rough cuts people have seen lately. I doubt many other people who have a general dislike for the prequels even knows how ROTS is shaping up to be. It doesn't seem like it's going to be at all like any of the previous films. Sure, the other two sounded great on paper as well, but they weren't always looked as entirely dark and classical from the get go. I really think ROTS will be a turning point for the PT and the Saga as a whole.

I've yet to hear about a single lighthearted point in the entire film, and I can't even think up a place to put in such lighthearted and goofiness as the past two films into this one. Sure you can bring up the Yoda fart, but many have already said that it was just a joke, and I really think that's the case. Any jokes placed into this one would just feel so out of place, there's no sense of accomplishment at any point of the film, except perhaps the very beginning. It's all downhill from the crawl. Much like ESB.

I still say Empire was a genuinely good film with excellent pacing, good acting, and a decent story.

As for Episode III, I don't care how good it is, it won't fix the damage caused by the first two episodes. It doesn't have my $10 (actually $11 now).

EpIV was. Empire seems to light up all the fanboys, but really its just a slightly darker boy's own adventure.

Ooh, I'm a petulant young man with the desire to become a jedi - thats easy right?
No, you must be patient.
Oh, do I have too? alright then.
Woohoo, I'm a jedi after all.
Oh, the bad guys my dad :( and my friends been captured.

Yes, more depth than the other two but hardly cinema verite.

And the only thing that allowed Empire to be so dark is ROTJ's payoff. Without that, empire would have needed to be self-contained, and have an uplifting end. So if you love Empire, you are not allowed to hate on ROTJ.

The original trilogy is campy and has its cornball moments, but it's not horrible like the prequels. This seems to be the last excuse for Star Wars apologists nowadays since most people don't buy the "Episode I was the setup for an amazing Episode II and/or Episode III!" line anymore.

what have you seen in episode I and II that makes you guys have any sort of hope for episode III?

really it boggles the mind.

I think it's the belief that Episode III will be darker than Empire. We'll see if that's true or not, but from the looks of it it seems to be so.

Yeah, cause you couldn't have seen the pic right at the top of the thread with Yoda and his lightsaber and not come to the same conclussion.

I can say this: The Incredibles was a fun movie, but not standard Pixar fare.

It's darker for one thing.

It won't prevent me from going again to see the trailer for Star Wars.

More trailer descriptions. THERE BE BIG SPOILERS HERE!

I just had the honor to watch the teaser trailer for Revenge of the Sith, oh about 10 times in a row and I'll probably watch it another 10 times, and let me say that it blew me away.

The description of the trailer floating around the Web is 99.9% correct.

(Highlight to read) The trailer does begin with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far way... and includes Alec Guiness famous line "A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights. He betrayed and murdered your father."

Some awesome highlights I should point out include (highlight to read) a hooded Anakin with glowing red eyes - much like Darth Maul’s, a scene of the Emperor wielding a lightsaber, I'm assuming during his battle with Yoda, which looks like he is throwing across the room.

In what seems to be a full out war over Coruscant we see an early prototype of the X-Wing fighter with an extra wing cutting across the fighter and a curved nose. There’s also a shot of a group of Wookies lead by Chewbacca getting ready to attack.

We also here James Earl Jones speak as Vader though his voice is a slight different then we are used to hearing in the original trilogy.

Let me say that the very first glimpse you see as Vader rises is jaw dropping. I highly recommending setting your TIVO to capture this because you will be wanting to pause and go back to the quick montage.

My friend has confirmed that the trailer will be played in its entirety on Access Hollywood Thursday night.

The first shot of Episode III is of an eruption on Mustafar. It is a volcanic, barren hell hole, burnt rocks and volcanos line the landscape and we see what looks like mechanical spiders with riders atop of them crossing the field.

What follows comes fast so I will give it to you but in no particular order as it is hard to keeo straight how it all came.

You do hear Palpatine say arise Lord Vader and they show him strapped to table that is leaning forward and surrounded with steam.

As he rises they cut to scenes and then back to him rising. You seen Anakin and Padme, the new Jedi Fighters in action, a Breathtaking shot of the capitol ship battle the opens the film. You see lots of Wookies, Tie Medran (Spelling), C-3PO, R2, in the Tantive IV hall. There is a great scene of Yoda coming in looking very upset and drawing his sabre then one later of him chopping. (This is the Palpatine Confrontation)

Hmm I see
palpatine sitting to the left there...is he pitting them against each other like he did in ROTJ?

That's what I'm hoping... Palpatine has been 'kidnapped' by the separatists -- he's in shackles in that shot -- and Anakin and Obi-Wan board the ship to 'rescue' him. I can hear him now: "Strike him down, Anakin. Give in to your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!"
:D

Even though I don't care for the prequels, the trailers have always been fun to watch and "The Incredibles" looks great. I'll definitely be out at the theater this Friday.

Yes. This is in the beginning of the movie. Anakin kills Dooku and then becomes Palpatine's personal bodyguard to kill everyone else.

Is there hope of any significant plot twist in Ep.3, or will this be the most predictable Star Wars ever?

Dan

Actually, Josh (the guy from TheForce.net who saw a rough cut of the movie) said that there was still a twist towards the end of Episode III that we don't know about. Who knows whether it's of any real significance, but it doesn't sound like it will be as clearcut as we might think.

My frothing demand... you get the point. Must see this right now! Just 15 or so more hours... or maybe less? Oh, it also must be noted that not only have I finished school today but I turn 18 on the exact date of the teaser! Wahay! Let the hype begin...

"Captain Kirk is Luke's father."
I'd be cool with that.
