Damnit My favourite sportsteam (the Amsterdam Admirals in the NFL Europe) have decided to change their logo from this:

Man, I loved that old logo. It has a lot of style and the great use of the triple X (wich is the core of the Amsterdam flag). But he, they probably need new merchandise money and all

So let's use this threat to think back to all those sportslogo's we lost but still love

…Frederick Bouchat, a 35-year-old security guard from Maryland, who has been arguing for years the Ravens' original logo -- which included a "B" and the word "Ravens" on a shield with wings on each side -- was similar to a drawing he submitted to John Moag, chairman of the Maryland Stadium Authority, five years ago.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court let stand a U.S. District Court decision won by Bouchat, who sued the Ravens for copyright infringement. The Supreme Court refused to review the November 1998 case.

Bouchat recalls the day in early June of 1996 when he watched the unveiling of the Ravens logo: "It was on television because they unveiled it on the side of a building at the Orioles game," Bouchat said. "It was so huge and I was so excited."

The next day at the official press conference, Bouchat waited for them to mention his name as the logo's designer, but they never did. Bouchat said all he was hoping to receive was an autographed team helmet and a letter of recognition for his artwork.

Bouchat said he tried to contact the Maryland Stadium Authority, but officials didn't return phone calls.

The Ravens have generally been a class act since they moved to Baltimore, but this was one time they really looked like jerks. Some average Joe submitted the design that became their original logo, and they wouldn’t even acknowledge him or give him an autographed football helmet for his troubles.

The Whalers logo was awesome... I loved how you could see both the H and the W in it, and the colors are cool.

Interesting they'd have an old Islanders logo that appeared for maybe 2 years in the mid 90's in the Netherlands... The traditional Islanders logo looks a lot better methinks

I agree, that logo rocks. But still, there's just something special about that one, partly because it's only been used for one and a half season and partly because, like you said, what are the fucking odds you find a jersey like that in this country...

I for one would like to see the NY Giants go back to their 80's and early 90's GIANTS logo on their helmets rather than the "ny" they've been using in more recent seasons. I always use that for my Madden franchise and that's part of the reason for all of my success.

That said, the Winnipeg Jets logo was fuckin' awsome.

I loved the old Minnesota North Stars jerseys, even though they were usually kicking the Blackhawks' asses whenever I saw them. Jon Casey was unfuckingbeatable whenever they played the Hawks.
