Removing the Switch 2 screen plastic layer and breaking the screen

I installed the glass protector first thing, knowing this - thankfully the dock has enough wiggle room for glass protector.
Why surprised though ? I was able to get Spigen nano pop case and glass protector installed and fit the dock fine ( dbrand can fuck off with their case ) expensive and needs their own dock ? Yeah no ty

That's madness - he had to hit the thing 50 times with a wrench to break the glass, and the console still worked afterwards.

No point in installing a screen protector, I think, it's plenty tough enough.

You don't install a screen protector because you're afraid of breaking the screen, You install it as to not scratch it...

Yep. Also, even though it took him 50 times to shatter the thing, one could hard fall at the right angle could also break the screen so folks shouldn't get overconfident with this thing, impressive as it is. I've had an iPad that fell and the screen protector shattered, but the the underlying screen was fine.

Haha, not surprised - but I didn't install protector for Switch1, so I didn't know what to expect.
Then again, I used my switch 99% as docked mode, so really didn't make any difference - still in mostly untouched condition.

But my kid's Switch was always being used handheld mode, so it got pretty banged up, including the screen. So decided to install screen protector for both of Switch2 that I got - just to be safe!
So Spigen nano pop case actually fit into the existing dock? Good to know.. :) May invest and look into a grip case, actually. I could use more bulge on the joycon, even though bigger physical size & bigger buttons etc makes a bit more comfortable to hold now.

Damn, Switch 2 is a beast

Found additional footage of the screen stress test

Fair enough. I prefer to risk a few minor scratches later, rather than the near certainy of tiny flecks of dust under the screen protector, or misalignment (I've never installed one without getting some sort of imperfection).

The Switch 2 really is quite a number of steps up in terms of build quality and general haptics. It really feels nice to hold in your hands and play with. That's what she said.

I bought this one from Amazon.
Protector
just clean the screen, use the bathroom after a shower against dust particles, the protector has a guide rail just pull away the plastic and click it on top of your switch, always perfect alignment.

Screen protector is for people who take to Switch 2 outside often.

But for someone like me who doesn't take Switch outside my home then screen protector is pointless.

Danj, come on man, pointless ?
Have you seen the insides of the dock? It's just hard plastic...
It doesn't take much as to scratch the screen, happened with the switch one, happens with the switch 2, guess what happens when you rub plastic on a plastic, it is what it is brother...

Again for the 5-8 Eurodollars that screen protectors cost, I'll never understand those that go without one/go "raw" since it's the cheapest investment one can make when it comes to a new device

Edit 1 : Tempered glass can be found for literally 2-3 Eurodollars on AliE/Temu

Edit 2 : it boggles the mind why they still haven't t put some soft fabric/material inside the dock (and especially the part that touches with the screen, Nintendo truly are the cheapest bastards in this industry ).

I get what you're saying but the better ones come with an alignment frame, I applied one the other day on my switch 2 screen perfectly.

Anyway 😁

This time around there is big gap between the Switch's screen and the dock, you can easily remove Switch from the dock without touching the screen.
