Reno exclusive! Virtua Fighter 5 trailer!

Oichi

I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce!
check www.virtuafighter.com for the vid and pics. Unfortunately they were really bitchy about taking videos on the screen (they had no prob with me taking pics/vids from the machines)... but I got about half of the trailer before they cut me off. Some really good shit there though. After you try to evade and fail, there's a special animation that occurs which makes you extremely vulnerable to counterattacks. Also, El Blaze can use walls as 'ropes' for his lucha libre style. It seems that movement is a lot more important in VF5 than in any other game.

They also showed stuff for VF.tv, which takes elements of Tekken.net (including the awesome Tekken Live aspects) and giving players a hell of a lot more customization. If I had to guess, I'd say that you probably have 4 times more options when customizing characters!

Now that's the VF I was expecting. El Blaze's model seems to look like that pic posted in another thread that was said to be a render. Kickass animation too.

OMFG, the lighting & texturing is AWESOME !! Although animation is kinda jurky in places though, still kick ass though.

HOLY SHIT! Lindbergh is a BEAST!

"nice, i hope its more accessable than VF4 which was very hard to play"

So long as you're not playing someone like Akira or Goh, I'm not quite sure how you could have a hard time playing VF4.

Lion and kage could become boring if you dont learn their moves. For begginers i would advise sarah, Lau, or Pai. Simpler moves just gotta have timing.

..and GOD DAMN that game looks hot..and its nothing more than a Pentium4 based system..nuts!

Wow so a missed evade is alot more obvious now, i wonder if it is still cancelable?

Movement was really important in VF4 also reno >:(

For crying out loud - VFDC is down and there seem to be no mirrors. Anyone who has the file please PM me right away and I will host it...?

Edit: nevermind, it's back up now...

Edit: Questionable quality but looks awesome! Thanks reno.

PS. I don't get how the new screenshots are really new - they're just caps from the first trailer... I did tonnes of off-screens recently.

Jerky <3's Scrubs!

Come on guys, give this n00b some character suggestions. :P

Well, Lei Fei is a button masher's dream. And you can pull off many a combo easily with Pai and Lau Chan simply alternating P and K.

I said it was more important in VF5! :p I never said it wasn't important in VF4 assface! :D

I don't dig the Chinaman.

VF is one of those games where I'm only good with one character, and god damn it it took me years to acquire my miniscule skill set; so I'm sticking with Wolf. :P

I'd love to learn Vanessa, but she had too many angle input moves and such. Nevermind I can only fit so much information in my brain at any given time. :(

Lei Fei is also hard as hell to get good at because of his changing stances.

That was delicious, Reno. Thanks! :)

Xbox360 and PS3 are more powerful!

So yeah!
Indeed. I think it moreso just shows how insanely talented Sega is when they're on their game.

Hopefully they're returning to form, as seems to be the case. Go Sega! :D

Damnit people. This game requires you to study and train with the character of your choice, thats why it feels so rewarding when you actually do become more and more proficient with a certain character :)

was there even an arcade version of VF4? i have never seen the arcade system ever

Yeah, VF4 would make a decent arcade game, come on Sega! They may even like it in Japan.

QFT

I await this one breathlessly.

Maybe its just me but it looks like its slower paced judging from Pai's string in the video. Not that I'm complaining. That's actually something I hoped they would do. Having those more realistic looking characters animate like lightning would look ridiculous. This is much more true-to-life I think. Of course I'm sure some people will complain.

The slightly slower pace might even make the game more accessable.

Yes. I'm happy with this to. Having the bigger guys more sluggish and the girls (basically smaller frame) be quicker (but within the realms of reality) makes the game (as someone already stated) closer to a fighter sim.

Neither VLC or BSplayer worked for me. I had to use VirtualDub. :P

Thats weird. VLC and BSplayer worked for me. I believe some players are dependent on any other players you may have installed (Windows Media Player, Windows Media Player Classic, Quicktime, RealPlayer etc etc). Good to know that VirtualDub worked for you though.

There is no other next-gen game I want more than this. Thanks for the love Reno.

Not sure why anyone would play DOA4 over this.

Thanks for braving the men in suits to get us this awesome footage Reno.

You are indeed the man of the hour! (or day or two)

I don't know why, but I can -never- download from Kikizo. I click the mirrored link, it takes me to a blank page, and that's that :(

Maybe because D0A4 will be, you know, online?

Yep, though I'm more hoping at this point that arcades in the US actually get the game. I'd rather be playing this in a few months than in a year+ :P
