Last year, the famous insider DanielRPK, known for providing details of films, especially those related to Marvel and DC, commented that Sony was preparing a film based on the Bloodborne franchise. Now the insider brings the first supposed information about this project.

According to the insider's latest publication, Sony is interested in getting Adam Wingard to direct the Bloodborne movie. The director is known for having recently directed Godzilla vs. Kong.

Bill Skarsgard, an actor known for It: The Thing and John Wick 4: Baba Yaga, is being sought to star in the film's lead role
, although it's not clear what his character will be.

Sony project based on the PlayStation game of the same name. Bloodborne follows the character, a Hunter, through the decrepit Victorian-inspired Gothic city of Yharnam, whose inhabitants are affected by a blood-borne disease that turns the residents, called Yharnamites, into hideous beasts. In an attempt to find the origin of the plague, the character unravels the mysteries of the city while fighting beasts and cosmic beings.

It would be interesting if it uses the death to retry from a checkpoint feature. Add some mystery solving to the story to go about things in a different way each time

Imagine if they somehow found the budget for making a second game...
I don't think you realize what this potential rumor means, if TLoU is any indication.

It means if a movie is coming, a remake/remaster is coming. This is potentially good news regardless of a sequel or not.

Daniel is very reliable, so this basically also serves as confirmation that the reports on a PS6 remake of the game are real.

Can't wait since PlayStation Productions has been knocking it out of the park with their adaptations so far.

Wingard has made a few watchable smaller movies but shit the bed trying something bigger (he clearly wasn’t ready to make a Godzilla movie) and there is no way he will ever do anything exceptional.

Director of Death Note...... I couldn't think of a worst choice oh my god
Sure, I have heard Death Note isn't great, but I havent seen it myself.

But he's a decent director overall.

Sometimes in movie the script and writing (in general) can drag a movie down hard, that's why I want to know who is writing it.

Bloodborne has some of the best art direction in the history of art (I'm not being hyperbolic).

This has a ton of fucking potential.

Script was one of many issues. It was a realllllly bad adaptation from somebody who obviously didn't go to the source material at all.

So, game doesn’t get a sequel but will get a movie and when the movie fails they will justify not making the game which is what people actually want?

This game marks a major "turning point" within the Dark Souls series. Just as it's been announced, we have two DLCs planned, but as it stands now, I'm not thinking about making any sequels or spin-offs. That applies to Bloodborne as well.
