Steven Spielberg really wanted to direct a ‘CALL OF DUTY’ movie but Activision turned him down.

Not really, you literally do things like in that commando gif in the games, just because they are telling a "serious" story, doesn't mean the the setting, or set pieces are anywhere remotely realistic, it's basically serious story in a fantasy world. Heck I would argue many of the chase scenes in the games are WAY more out there compared to commando, look at this first chase in the video:

It's complete fast and the furious 10 blockbuster nonsense. The second clip with the ridiculous 007 jumps on the snowmobile while shooting enemies with one hand...
The games are packed with this action blockbuster hero power fantasy shit, it's nothing like spielberg's war movies.

Spielberg invented the blockbuster. He could do this type of thing easily if he wanted to. In the absence of any other information I'm gonna guess the people who said he wanted to do something more serious were right and Activision wanted something more fast and furious, and less expensive than Spielberg would have cost.

Can't imagine turning down arguably the greatest director of all time, who made one of the best war movies ever from making the call of duty movie.
That's because they don't care about making a good movie, they most likely only care about making teenage slop to lure more teenagers to their platform.

I 100% believe it, because Spielberg likes COD. His son has gone on record saying it's his dad that got him into games, but he can't use a controller.

Spielberg is mouse+kb only.
The birth of story telling in games actually started in Universal Studios with him. It's neither Cerny nor Kojima, these are just his pupils.

It's a great opportunity to make a high production, first-person cinematic war film.
Spielberg would be the man to do it as well.
No doubt he would base it on the campaigns, but one centered around the MP could be cool af.
Ef the normies, make one for the bros.👊

Yea, the campaigns are basically Fast & Furious tier at this point. That said, I doubt his movie would be like Saving Private Ryan, but it's ridiculous to think the guy who made Jaws and Jurassic Park can't make a movie worthy of the name of Call of Duty (lol). Saving Private Ryan shows that he can direct a war scene as well as anyone, maybe better.

Call of Duty... especially Modern Warfare seems like a Jerry Bruckheimer production imo
