Report: Resident Evil 0 Remake Confirmed to be in Development, New Casting and Plot Details Unearthed

Man, people are harsh with RE0 for some reason, yeah it wasn't perfect by any means, Rebecca going from tough girl who can handle difficult situations in 0 to damsel in distress in REmake doesn't make sense and the inventory system was totally absurd, but it was a good game 🤷‍♂️

just wake me up when they do Dino Crisis like they did R2R

Zero is a good Resident Evil with a couple bad design decisions that could be fixed. Mostly, the addition of item boxes instead of having all your stuff thrown around the entire game map.

The only tropes were action and horror ones.
Sure, let's just ignore Steve

making the game an hour longer because he can't concentrate on a very important task because he can't help himself looking at Claire's butt,

Steve
making the game two hours longer because he just has to play macho man with the girl and refuse to give her the cool gold pistols,

Steve
facing a hundred zombies and monsters and killing his undead father but drawing the line at Alfred thinking he's two people,

Steve
trying to kiss Claire while she's trying to get some sleep after saving his ass a dozen times,

and Steve
managing to fight against his mutation thanks to the Power of Love.

And let's just ignore the overall direction of story and dialogue in CV, which obviously takes a turn from the Hollywoodesque ambitions of the PS trilogy towards a distinctly more Japanese style. The dialogue in CV manages to be more stilted and redundant than even RE1's, even without the legendary meme lines of the previous games.

Steve is comic relief simp sidekick. That is his role. At least they knew better than to attempt dead pan seriousness like the dullest instalments.

As always with CAPCOM you can be sure levels assets/shared locations will be utilized, the Code Veronica mansion will be re-used for RE 1 Re-Remake, as such the RE 2 lab platform train / cable car could be in the 0 Re-Remake too. Hope they bring concepts back in like the unused monsters for 0.

i worry they are making the same mistake they did with RE5 and trying to do online co-op again. so no backtracking, dumbed down puzzles and level design and lots of action instead of survival horror

Code Veronica is an extremely poorly designed game that is unfortunately full of cool moments. Steve is definitely one of my fav characters in the series, I like him way more than Leon or Chris.

I know we already got the GCN remake but it feels like RE1 is the biggest missing piece from the modern remake saga. Nobody expect me wants to play that original tank-control style RE anymore.
