Eh. I forgot about not posting in any topic about race in the OT forum.

Basically I said in a topic about casting for the new Netflix Cowboy Bebop series that the anime was purposely left ambiguous because the future of humanity was more homogeneous. If Watanabe wanted us to know the race of the characters he would have said.

Not even sure why I got banned for that. Not going to waste my time there anymore.

None that I can figure. I got banned for making a dumb joke about the new Batwoman series taking on manspreading as their social cause. That was it. Thought it was funny.

I wasn't blasting diverse casting, I was making just the opposite point about the sci fi genre and humanity as a whole, but they're so sensitive about race they'd rather ban me than discuss it. Pretty liberal view actually.

To me that post at first glance with no real thought reads as if he is upset that Netflix is casting minorities in the key roles. Now I get that is not what he meant, but I could see how someone could glance at the post and see it that way. And even then I don't find it particularly egregious. Like I said a day AT MOST if the mod wants to be a dick. Otherwise a warning to simply word your posts better so there is no misunderstandings would be fine with me.

There is nowhere in the anime (never read the manga) that showcases the cast's origins.

The problem is that you reached a different conclusion than The Names. It does not matter how valid or factual your point is, your conclusion was wrong, therefore you were wrong and you had to eat a ban.

I was parodying a last jedi apologist".

Then.....a member on the first forum discovers this (stalking my online activity...too much free time on his hands?)....

and comes back and posts:

Yeah I just stay away from Etcetera as it’s so much politics. On desktop it’s ok as I use the user script to filter out political topics, but that doesn’t work for mobile where I do most of my browsing. But I agree the politics are everything crowd would lose their shit if it was split out to its own area. It’s a shame too as there are some great threads there that would get even more traffic if the politics didn’t keep many away. Unlike here where traffic is just still too low and making thnoolirics area didn’t rejuvenate the off topic area (yet anyway). Gaming area is mostly fine with the political threads fewer and easier to ignore with the hide thread feature.
