Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 are among the titles set to receive a native PS5 and Xbox Series X update. They have been confirmed to receive this free upgrade later in 2022. The first of them is possibly Resident Evil 3, which has a PEGI rating.

I loved Resident Evil 3 Remake. So…me at the very least.
Yeah, me too, although I admittedly got the game for around 15 dollars which I guess is partly what soured the game at launch for a lot of people, its content versus its price.

It would be nice if they had added more content but I don't see how they could easily given how they've done the story changes/ built the cutscenes/ dialogue etc.

Yeah I can understand the frustration that the game wasn’t longer. But many of the comments and things like “turd” seem to be knocking the quality which I don’t get.

I paid around $30 CAD for it. Full price isn’t worth it for MOST games for me. That’s definitely the case here, but when you factor in that I’ll re-play it too, that adds value.

3d audio in REngine games on ps5 is so fucking confusing.
Do I select in game 3d? or disable in game 3d and leave 3d in ps5 system settings enabled ?

Did you play Resident Evil 3 in 1999? That REmake is a shell of the original.

I never saw a REmake so bad in my life… not just the quality but about the whole game was cut.

REmake 2 has a lot of things cut but not at the extension of REmake 3.

Interesting as I've noticed it's been so hard to get a physical copy of re3 for the last couple of months in bricks and mortar shops. Gave up and bought on ps4 store last week.

Should have guessed its because of new next gen update. Same happened with Cyberpunk - hard to get in shops and next gen update

Curious if RE7 on PS5 will still support VR? That'd be sick, looks great with the PS4 Pro visuals but would gladly welcome another boost to fidelity.
Sadly I doubt it. PSVR only supports ps4 games as legacy hardware. Capcom could of course boost the ps4 version to be ps5 aware and increase e.g rez, but it’s unlikely with them moving to the ps5 code.

RE3R is perhaps the most fun RE of them all. Its not the best, and its not worth full buck (but it shouldn't be anymore, I bought it for 30 bucks a few months post launch and later digital in combo with RE2 for like 15 bucks or so). But its incredibly fun. The evade mechanic is very rewarding and makes for excellent speed running. I beat it 5+ times and have the plat. Its just too bad it didn't have mercs, since the gameplay is imo the best of all (the melee shit was fun in 5 though).

You can unlock fun shit though. And with medals you can even enable auto heal and higher defense etc.

Probably going to do another few runs once its upgraded.

I agree original is better but for an Escape game it sent you around and let you puzzle quite a bit. Remake has the better opening in the apartment, and I think the hospital was better in Remake. For the rest its unfortunate the clock tower, nemesis 2nd form and mercs aren't there. The Nemesis drops are still there, but the rewards aren't as good. The Desert Eagle and Western shotgun were fun in the original.

But the pacing of remake is better because of the way the game is structured. You're actively escaping and its very replayable.

That's the biggest sting about 3make. Mechanically it's one of the best RE experiences to date but just so much cut content and what is there is super condensed.

Sweet. Means more trophies to hunt for since legit PS5 apps. Excited to play through these with serious updates.

I enjoyed Remake 3, but I wish they made a director's cut version.
I heard the og game director didn't wanted o be involved on the remake(he was asked by Capcom) because it took a different direction, so there won't be any director's cut RE3 was always a side game Capcom didn't care much about, their real goal was remaking RE4 thats why M two was formed

Loved RE3R on PS4PRO how would be different on SS?

well I bet there will most likely be an RT mode with a performance worse than the Pro version, and a non-rt mode with a performance that is better than on the Pro.

the resolution will most likely be lower in both modes compared to PS4 Pro, which ran the game at 1620cb, the Series S will most likely run the game at either 1080p or 1440p. a native 1440p image should have some benefits over the 1620cb solution on the Pro tho, since checkerboarding does have issues with some elements like foliage and other transparencies like fire, smoke etc.

so expect 1440p ~50fps to ~60fps without RT and 1440p ~30fps to ~45fps with RT. maybe slightly higher settings too, but not by much (better textures should be possible tho due to the slightly bigger ram pool)

they could easily implement a 4K checkerboard mode on the Series S as an option, but most developers don't actually really try pushing for that on the system, so I wouldn't expect that even tho it might be theoretically possible, especially at 30fps

Are you guys shorting too high for Series S?

Dynamic 1080p with RT 30fps… if there is RT.

RE8 runs at 1440cb60 without RT and 1440cb~30 to 40fps with RT. so it is using checkerboarding. it could be 1440cb in both modes, who knows
