Here's my Resident Evil 4 picture where I tried to capture Leon's multitasking action and my favorite part of the game, reloading the rifle. Leon has his eyes on his target and he's not going to let anything distract him. Critiques are welcome.

GAMECUBE:
Resident Evil 4

FINAL JUDGMENT SCORE: 9.7 out of 10
My hat goes off to Shinji Mikami for his revolutionary idea to make RE4 letterbox and the camera system choice, truly a testament to Mikami’s brilliance.

The game does a great job of making me feel like a bad ass through action like Leon’s awesome rifle reload animation or dodging a swinging tree or elbowing an enemy in the face. The gameplay in RE4 is very cinematic, which is the direction I think all games should go. The last hour of RE4 isn’t as climactic as MGS3’s last moments (actually, there isn’t a game out there that compares to MGS3’s orgasmic last hour). RE4 goes from being ultra scary and suspenseful to action packed, pure survival action. The game does a great job of startling me too.

And HOW did they squeeze those graphics out the Gamecube??? The only console game that compares to RE4 graphically would be MGS3 and if I had to say, I might actually say RE4 has ever so slightly better graphics (that doesn’t mean better cinematics). Also I I’d like to mention that Leon S Kennedy in RE4 is the COOLEST CHARACTER DESIGN IN ANY VIDEOGAME EVER MADE!!! He is a complete bad ass!

The story of RE4 isn’t anywhere near as good as MGS3’s, but still entertaining. The dubbing is great and the cinematics are among MGS’s ranks (but the story isn’t anywhere near as good). The music is very good, movie-soundtrack sounding music.

GAMEPLAY: 10 out of 10
MUSIC: 9 out of 10

1 Short Review
5 Mentions of MGS3
1 Badass drawing... (I cant help but think you could have done more with the coloring).

Not the best review ever.

How is someone that is fighting Hordes of mutant villagers, doing back flips of giants, dodging huge trees being swung at him, kikcing ninja alien ass (sewerboss) and blowing up Mr "I have an eyeball in my throat" not make one a bad ass?

Seemed more like a comparison to MGS3 than a review of RE4 itself, but I agree with your assessment.

Pretty cool drawing, but Leon looks a bit weird. His elbow is huge and he looks like he's a bit of a hunchback.

The only thing which looks off to me is the angle of Leon’s head, maybe it just needs some more shading?

Anyway, very nice drawing.

What specifically could I have done with the coloring?

Sander:
Why do you think it's such a horrible review?

In case you didn't know, judgment can be spelled judgement and it's still spelled correctly ;) I don't ever mis spell that word.

Speevy:
Wind Waker technique? Explain further please.

Bristow:
I think all reviews should compare games to games; in fact, if a review isn't comparing the game to anything, then it isn't a good review. I think MGS3 makes a great comparision (2 similar big action titles that try to achieve cinematic gameplay).

I thought Leon was a tiny bit of a neck-forward kind of guy, but maybe I over did it and maybe I screwed up on the perspective of his elbow. Thanks for the tips.

What effect did you use on the first photoshop pic you have there? The second one I don't like, but the first one isn't too bad.

When I think cool, stylized coloring I think of Andrew Jones. If that isn't your style I understand... it's just my personal preference.
I changed the coloring on the arms if you noticed.

And I didn't use any one effect. I used grain, upped the contrast, and gave it a reddish-orange tint.

Agreed. RE4 is definitely one of the top games of this gen. It has certain limitations, sure, but it's damn good. Imagine RE5 in the same mold using next-gen graphics/shadows with more interactive environments and even more lifelike baddies... Wowza!

There's an official RE4 thread that is still in use. Your original thread was already merged into it, but evidently you didn't get the clue the first time.
