Hey look! It's Matlocks mom!
Matlock said:The cabin was easy, but tedious as hell.
Orin GA said:Tram was okay if you used the shot gun. Widespread shot and the fact than any little hit would cause em to fall off helped.
Village chief Round one was easy, Round two was harder, especially with his one hit kill.
Matlock said:...! Never thought to use the shotgun, didn't think it would kill them with a stray pellet. Oh well. :lol

i used the rifle too. alternated between shotgun, rifle and opportunistic grenade throws.Vlad said:IMO, the sniper rifle's your best bet on that tram. All of the enemies always fall off after one hit, and a single shot can go through all of the ones on one car if you aim right.

If you're at the exclusives already I guess they're is no point to selling them. But you should get a magnum (you can get one for free but you probably missed it). I would get the better rifle so there isn't a 3 second break per shot plus disorientation (but the reload looks so cool). Saving the original shotgun is a good idea until the Striker is available. Mine Thrower is something you buy, laugh using it a couple of times, and then turn off the game without saving.Scrow said:has anyone here not bought new weapons? I've stuck with original handgun, TMP+Stock, shotgun and rifle+scope the whole way through so far. I've just upgraded them all.
haven't bought the better rifle, shotgun, magnum or mine thrower. was this a good idea or should i have been buying all those weapons instead of upgrading the standard first weapons from the start of the game? the exclusive upgrade for the handgun is nice (chance on critical headshot * 5)![]()

You can, sorta. Use your gun until you're out of ammo and don't reload it. Then go to the merchant and upgrade your guns ammo capacity. Free bullets! I always did that for the magnum.Matlock said:Just kind of disappointed that you can't buy ammo at the merchant, wtf.

(Best way to do this is let her stand on an upper platform, go down and look up!
That's really great!
Mama Smurf said:You don't have a rifle? Are you mad?
Seriously, get one. And lose the TMP, it's shite. Well, some seem to like it but I don't have a clue why.

Err... you did buy the scope for it right? You weren't just using it like a normal gun were you?Matlock said:The rifle is far too slow for my needs. I only bought it, then resold it after the tram ride.
LakeEarth said:Err... you did buy the scope for it right? You weren't just using it like a normal gun were you?
LakeEarth said:Well you really really need a sniper weapon for some parts coming up. Without it is gonna be pretty hard. The rifle is only to be used when no one's around you anyways so I still don't get the slow comment.
Well sometimes they're far off. It's not impossible to beat the game without the sniper, but some parts will be harder. Make it in the castle yet?Matlock said:When I can spot a dot on a guy from far away, make a quick adjust, and snap him with my red 9...wellllll...
HomerSimpson-Man said:I would like to know where I stand in RE4 in regards to guns. How many guns did you guys hold in the game after a while?
Matlock said:Just got there, at the firey boulder catapault part, not sure yet how to get through it.

Behold the brilliance that is Resident Evil 4. They're not Zombies this time around, which means like us living people, they can take several shot gun hits to the face and chest.
Vlad said:I usually held on to a pistol, a shotgun, and a rifle.
Yeah, the semi-auto was brilliant. I ended up switching later in the game on my first run just because the enemies seemed to be moving faster than my reticule so those extra seconds in between shots really helped. I sold my bolt-action rifle for so many pesetas though.HomerSimpson-Man said:The semi-auto rifle was a keeper for me. Such power and being able to shoot multiple shots in a row before reloading rules! That and the monsters you would face later on...
Mama Smurf said:Pfff, so it's function is to make the game less fun?
Ironclad_Ninja said:Now that I am all caught up, I never used the TMP at all. I always sold off the ammo as well. First tiime I used it was in theand found it pretty useless so I stayed away from it. I bought the red9 and stock before the cabin fight with Luis and kept for almost the entire game. Such an excellent weapon and has a great reload animation. Same thing for the bolt-actin rifle. I knew I could have upgraded to the semi-auto but my current rifle was already upgraded qutie a bit and I didn't see the point in switching. Of course I went back through and purchased every last gun on subsuquent plays. Every gun has it's own distinct feel and it's a blast to play around with any of them.shooting gallery
