These viral videos are actually really cool, it's great that Capcom have been given the budget to do it.
Yeah, I'm quite sure of it.DarkUSS said:Capcom is determined to show us every tiny bit of the game before it comes out. :S

Shit, I thought that the TGS '08 trailer would be enough for anybody, but it's only one of SEVERAL trailers featuring multiple areas, characters, gameplay shots, and in-game cutscenes. By the time RE5 comes out there won't be many surprises left.

I sure hope not, but that's the direction the wind seems to be blowing......
Zenith said:I don't know if it was the final final, but it did have all the content in there.
What you see in the demo is what you get in the game.

David H Wong said:Nope.
i'm just curious what your impressions of that were once you had an extended period of time to play it, and to see everything it had to offer.
This! I NEED to know if the framerate issues are fixed in the PS3 version.

Didn't give two shits about any of the characters in the other ones, especially CJ-- why was I supposed to like him again?-- the graphics are beautiful, gameplay is great, voice acting is great, dialogue is good (not Oscar worthy but good), and Little Jacob is the best character to grace the series.
GTA4 rocks.
Zenith said:I'm a PC gamer so I don't exactly have an eye for framerate.

There's usually a lot of framerate related tweaking involved with PC gaming, unless you buy a 1500 dollar pc every year.

the_zombie_luke said:Well I can't make a fair call if that's racist or not as I'm not black or African, but that's going to piss some people off when they find out about it or just see footage of it, on top of the main game being full of black enemies. Again, I'm not black so I can only tell how I feel about it and it's kind of weird seeing a game with mostly black enemies. The majority of games I've played have been 90% white enemies or they have non-human foes. I'm not saying the game can't have black or African enemies either. It's just a change for me and I'm sure it will look very weird to people who don't play games. And sort of unrelated, but I think Medal of Honor:Airborne is the first time I've ever shot up Italians in a game. Finally, I got to shoot up people in a WW2 game who I vaguely resemble and share some ancestry with. :lol Now I just need a game with Dutch and Irish enemies and I'll have my bases covered. But seriously, it is good when games branch out and have all kinds of different people in them. I just hope RE5 isn't some cheapshot to a lot of people.
This comment makes me wet.Zenith said:You really haven't seen much of anything yet.
Yep, it really is without a doubt the best control scheme. You can strafe, which makes taking down an enemy like The Executioner much easier, and you still get the left-stick aiming, which prevents the game from feeling like Dead Space or Gears from a control perspective, it instead makes it feel like RE4, hence making the movement restrictions far less noticeable (your left thumb isn't left doing nothing, and your right thumb shoots with X/Square).Fallout-NL said:Thanks to all the people suggesting control type C. Is that going to be any better in the final version?
I might try Type C, though I'm already satisfied with Type A.Rez said:If anyone still has issues with the controls, I strongly recommend giving Type C a fair go, or at least Type A. Type D, with its right stick aiming, really makes the game feel a lot more clunky, even though it is possible to adjust to it.

Well, this is the worst review yet for Re5, the score doesnt do it justice.
- On the whole not many positive things to say about the game
FourSerioux said:The more and more I play the demo I still can't get myself to enjoy the co-op aspect. The controls don't bother me, I get used to them rather quick, but the forced co-op just doesn't make sense to me.
I don't mind the availability, but having to babysit Sheva for the entire game... I just can't imagine I'm going to enjoy it. Resident Evil was never a series screaming for co-op, it's a survival horror, things are more tense when you're on your own.
I'll watch reviews and such, and I'm sure I'll pick the game up eventually but the chances of me picking it up at launch are slim to none. It's more than likely I won't end up picking it up until it hits a price drop or I find a good deal on a used copy. Then again these are all the same concerns since I heard about co-op originally, so I'm not surprised that I don't like that aspect.

Australia OXM review 8/10
Well, this is the worst review yet for Re5, the score doesnt do it justice.
- On the whole not many positive things to say about the game
- "one of the reasons we awarded the high score was due to to the impressive visuals"
- RE4 in HD
- Xbox World were correct...OXM AU say it can be completed in around 10 hours
- They were not impressed with Sheva's A.I
- "One of the most disappointing titles of 09"
- Did not reveal any unlockables but said they will significantly increase play time
- Did not like the inventory system
- contextual cover is completely contextual can not move left/right etc and is quite prevalent in the later part of the game

Yes, but if criticism just boils down to "stupid comments" and "bitching", then what's the point? I personally feel that those are valid criticisms. Quality is subjective and most individuals are going to have a different opinion, but If you're just going to ignore this (whether it's nitpicking or not), then you may as well refuse to acknowledge the review at all.Rez said:Did you read the first half of his sentence?
Coolio McAwesome said:I'll reserve my final judgment for after I actually play the complete game, but I was blown away by the demo. (I actually hated the demo at first, but switching to the "Type A" control scheme addressed most of my issues.) It almost seems as though this game is skewing a little lower than it should because it is being directly compared to Resident Evil 4. There aren't a lot of games that would look good under this type of scrutiny. It neither bothers nor surprises me that the game (apparently) doesn't live up to its immediate predecessor. RE4 was probably the best game of its generation and one of the top ten games ever.

This is what I hate about reading reviews for a game that comes out in March.dark10x said:So the word on game length seems to be conflicting. Is this a 10 hour game or a 20 hour game (like RE4)? That makes a HUGE difference.
