Resident evil 9 trailer 2

This will probably be the second RE after 8 that I won't be buying at launch. None of the things they showed so far inspire confidence in that the game is worth buying at launch, not to mention that for me personally, there's no interest in playing it based on what they showed.
The MC is not interesting, the plot bits they showed to set things up are not interesting and it just doesn't look like a RE I want to play after RE2-4 remakes, even if it has 3rd person perspective.

Too much of the is to me reeks of RE7.

I enjoyed my time with 7, but felt like it was the blueprint for an actual video game. A concept almost. RE8 realized that concept and was a fun game I played through a few times.

This game from what's shown so far feels a step back, and I blame their marketing. We need some later in the game actual gameplay. Show a boss or busy enemy section. I want to see how gunplay and resources work etc.

If it's brain dead slow mold monsters, and jump scares like RE7, then I'll wait for a sale. If it's RE8 level of combat sections, puzzles, etc I am in.

It'll never hit the highs of RE1-4, and 1-4 remakes, but it can still be as good as RE8, and I'll gladly take that. 7 part 2 is a waste.

Nah dude, it was a mediocre remake like all of them. Especially with the missing A/B scenarios and zap system.
It was also a mistake mixing everything up into one playtrough. All the boss fights are the same, no matter with whom you start.

Gone are also the different encounters with Ada and Annette along with their different endings. Also it was a big mistake thowing mrx into the first playtrough.

Re2 Remake mediocre? Yeah man its time to take your medicines

There is a switch 2 version of the trailer as well, in case anyone is interested:

Trailer was fine. They're not showing a lot and I'm fine with that. They've already shown more than I need to see. I kind of think the big creature could've been kept a surprise instead of showing it for the demo. I'm not really feeling the mysterious man. His face kind of looks like the penguin.

It's the same director of RE7.

I really liked the original RE2 back in the day but I wouldn't agree with that. Some things may have been lost but other things were added and I much preferred the way Mr X was handled in the remake. He was one of the best things about it.

Mr.X and Nemesis basically switched places in the Remakes.

That looks literally exactly like RE2make

And thank fuck for that. No other RE like it, and great animations. Legit no chance of me ever touching first person.

The 3rd person mode is HUGE upgrade over RE8.....sooooo glad give us the option to play this in 3rd person.

They don't want to show Leon so the trailers are keeping back a big part of the game I bet.

They should release no trailer vs a subpar one.

The wrist animation for the flashlight reminds me of Geralt's ankles in Witcher 3.

The "next gen" version makes the hair look matted and greyer making her look older(shading also makes lines deeper). The less processed face on the Switch version make her look considerably younger on the Switch version vs the other version. That said, this is feint praise as the differences come down to technical limitations on Switch. I prefer the younger look but I'm not a huge fan of this character model overall. I think it is one of the weakest Capcom has done.

This looks so weak. It doesnt even look like a Resident Evil game, what is happening at Capcom?

Man, I've been thinking the exact same thing...
Not a single trailer has impressed me so far - this could be any generic horror game out there, not something worthy of the "Resident Evil" name - and this is supposed to be the grand finale? Seriously? Where are the iconic characters we actually care about? Where's the signature RE gunplay? This looks like another Outlast-style walking-sim horror experience and it's been heading in that direction ever since 7 for fuck's sake.

We're supposed to return to a devastated Raccoon City, yet the entire narrative focus so far has been on a girl who's the daughter of a character from a game released over 25 years ago. That's not enough to carry the "final chapter" of a franchise of this scale.

Show me Leon, Chris, Ada, Jill...anything at this point G'dammit

But there's a 3rd person camera in RE8 too ?
Finished it for a 2nd time using it and it was a better experience compared to 1st person IMO
I played RE8 on hardcore mode and switched to 3rd person to see how it is but it felt something wrong with it.

It 3rd person mode is not as good as RE2R and RE4R….RE9 3rd person looking MUCH better.

Ah, OK, yes, the 3rd person camera in RE8 wasn't as good as the other games and it kind of felt tacked on , still, I had a much better experience finishing the game a 2nd time using it.

Not to beat a dead horse but...FPV, in a RE title doesn't work, pure and simple.

Yeah I also don't like FPS in RE which is makes me glad they letting us choose to play in 3rd person in RE9.

It looked like a good traditional 'lurching' zombie, but unfortunately Grace was rather lurching all over the place too!

I want Leon and a Broken Butterfly....

I personally like Grace, I'm honestly sick of playing as Leon or Chris and other legacy characters.

In fact in my opinion Chris section was worse part of both RE7 & 8. I'm scared if they bring back Leon, his section gonna similar to Chris section in RE8.

I like Grace too, it's just whether the game is going to inflict 'enforced stumbling' and amateurism on the player, a bit like those sequences in games where you've been near an explosion and your movement and vision go all woozy. I don't think any person in the history of the world has ever said "Ooh I love those bits!".

(ps. I agree the Chris section wasn't great in RE8 because it felt too much like a generic military first-person shooter. In third-person and with more classic weapons I think it will feel much more Resident Evil and we'll be fine).

Resident evil we're talking about horror royalty, I would prefer more action (minority) but gamers appreciate resident evils formula.

That's the thing from gameplay perspective it's great but from story perspective….why would Chris or Leon who are experienced fighting zombies and other monsters bring classic weapon? Of course they going to bring high power military weapons when they know going to fight monsters.

This is why Grace is great protagonist, she works in FBI so she has basic weapon training but not much experience actually using weapon in the field and more importantly she has no experience fighting zombies or monsters like just Leon back in RE2.
