Wow, PC performance is horrible. 60 fps most of the time, but when certain effects are on screen, it hitches like crazy. Every time I do a headshot, it freezes for half a second.
The game is fun though. Not as good as Revelations 1 yet, but let's see what further episodes bring to the table.
The references? Sure. But the actual presentation and writing is terrible, and not on purpose. The commercial is definitely presented as cheesy though, even in the Japanese version.
It's remarkable just how much of Resident Evil 6 there is in raid mode. In fact, it's pretty scummy of Capcom to sell a "throwback pack" of RE6/Rev1 levels when that's what 95% of raid mode is anyways.
I somewhat agree. I was excited thinking they'd do maps based on areas like the RE1 Mansion, RE2 Prison, RE3 City, RE4 Village, etc... Did we know the maps included beforehand? I couldn't find anything back when I preordered.
Thankfully, I only got just the Season Pass and received the map pack for free. I don't see it being worth an extra $15 for the 4 Maps from 6/Rev1, Wesker and the 4 wacky costumes.
Am playing the campaing in the normal difficulty. Just got a gar to activate a door, to exit a place. However... I'm basically out of ammo. I just have 2 pistol rounds... nothing else. lol
Is there some hint to obtain ammo, or to save them?
You got one explosive bottle...? you dont need that much ammo for this part,if you do something quickly...its hard to see at first but look at that big circular thing in the middle...everyone struggles here the first few times so if you need a hint...
Turn the crank near the herb thats in the corner, then go near the big thing that has fire coming out of it,you should be able to turn it to face the other way, killing eveything that comes in,you might have 1 or 2 bigger guys left but they will be weakened by the fire, then switch to Moira because you need her crowbar to open the door
Just finished the first episode and I've got to say that damn it felt good to see (and also able to play as) Barry Burton again. I thought his scenario and how the mechanics worked on those enemies was fantastic. I'm loving the feeling of the Island so far and had a lot of Code Veronica vibes from this.
A solid start and definitely loving the feel of this so far. So much better than six in terms of story scenario and atmosphere.
Mine has too a few times. I definitely think it did in the forest. I'm not sure if it's the temperature that's making the fan speed go up or if it is the game.
I really like the map varity in Raid Mode. A mix of indoor, outdoor locations, snow, forrest, city....
There are 18 maps in episode 1 and each map has 3 difficulty variants.
Interestingly only two of them are from episode 1 campaign, the remaining 16 are all from RE6.
Also in the Raid Mode there are enemies that we haven't yet encountered in the main campaign and there are enemies from previous RE games !
I hope the upcoming episode 2 also brings us new maps and enemies for the Raid Mode.

I just started it and,am i the only one who get's extremely tense playing this ? Didn't played a lot,i got to the part where you turn the lights on,died and turned off the console, but damn man, this game gave me chills, and every time an enemy appears, especially the big ones that looks like Pyramid Head,i just freeze, like i stop and try to think what to do for 3 seconds.

How many RE games have you played? Lol. This had the opposite effect on me. Nothing in this was scary, unfortunately. I don't think Capcom has what it takes to scare me again.

3,4,5 and 6,being that i didn't played 3 by myself and i played a bit of all games in the franchise. Probably Revelations 2 isn't scary at all,i just get really nervous and anxious when i'm playing any terror game, even the weakest ones hahaha.
The dodging is pretty nice and easy to do. Control feels like a step back from RE6 though because I kept wanting to do my dodge jumps and couldn't. Lol. I love the slow-mo R2 attacks though.

So, watching a friend's stream on Barry's portion:
When that kid threw the brick that killed that zombie, it seemed like it had the exact death animation from RE4/5.
Yes, I would so kept those cheesy lines for all their worth.
WHAT!? Ok, they say they're not zombies but they are so zombies and yet after you get to the
control room
, headshots no longer count? They seem crudely augmented as it is so so it would seem like metal head plates would make sense to prevent one hit kills (maybe able to shoot them enough to fly off from non-magnum weapons). Jesus, even zoms in oldRE took less knife kills then this.
Companion AI doesn't seem to that bright though so far doesn't seem to be a hindrance though when you get to the
cabin where the girl was "sensing" that monster, that could have been done perfectly brilliant if the kid like NOTICED THE MONSTER WHEN SHE WAS LOOKING BACK WHILE YOU WERE TRYING TO OPEN THOSE DOUBLE DOORS!
Speaking of
monsters, they look like miniature. mutated Tyrant defects.
I do wonder though if more games take inspirations from LOU that there are going to be more things then bottles and bricks to grab.
Hard to tell graphically due to the compression so how does the next-gen versions look on a HDTV?
Aesthetics seem really on point. Hell, those concrete corridors remind me of RE2.
Grabbed animations seem to be strict to facing the enemy from the
monsters
even if it was from behind.
I just realized while posting this that the
lumber mill is reminding me of Alan Wake.
Ok, that placement of that exploding globe was such a cheap shot.
WEll, that custom part sure is reminding you this is a sequel to Revelations.
That skill tree so look like it was taken straight out of a dark fantasy RPG.

Seems to have a bit of flaws but seems, overall, solid. THough, Barry sure is making me want to just buy this digitally then just wait for the retail copy.
Probably bit on the early side to be asking these questions and all, but has any tried a Knife Only run yet? I'm wondering if you can still much Moira's Crowbar and Natty's Brick or if it voids the cheevo.
Um, just had raid mode freeze after finishing a mission (ps4). Now it's frozen again after a restart of the application. Stuck on the loading screen after I picked raid mdoe from the main menu.
it's included in ep.1, it's just part of the game/the MP component of the game
but online play is disabled right now
also there's a really cool touch i enjoy in the campaign that's a bit of a spoiler:
ouroboros enemies dissolve into the goo pile that they do in RE5, but the REV2 'infected' enemies bodies stick around
that is such a tiny detail that i love that adds to the world just a bit. where new generation viruses have a self-disposal mechanism as to actually be usable/manageable as a weapon
To you guys what played the game, is Moira unbearably cussy, like in the trailers? "Fuck these cunting zombies", "are you shitting the fuck out of me", "fuck, crap, asshole" and all that? I found that really jarring, it's like they really wanted to make an Ellie v2.0
I may be wrong, but I think the only hammer time dudes you encounter in the campaign can be either avoided or stealth killed. The Revenants won't be too bad.
The dodging is pretty nice and easy to do. Control feels like a step back from RE6 though because I kept wanting to do my dodge jumps and couldn't. Lol. I love the slow-mo R2 attacks though.
This may be a situation where I think I hate Steam Reviews the most. The PC version has some issues it needs to address, yes, but so much misinformation and things being blown out of proportion.
For the third time in a row the game freezes on a loading screen when I try to enter Raid Mode. WTF Capcom???
As I said in a previous post, this game is the most fun I've had with RE since RE4, but goddamit this is buggy as hell.
The PS4 version has some performance issues dropping frames for no reason at all, when there is nothing happening.
And even worse, these freezing issues happening all the time. I've had the game freeze on a loading screen 4 times in a few hours. Once during the campaign and three times during Raid Mode.
Just happened to me as well, three times in a row. And I had just beaten the daily challenge. Hopefully I haven't lost my rewards. Maybe this is a network issue?

Reminds me of Tomb Raider 2013 PC. Blazing frame rate most of the time, but open a crate and the game would basically freeze for a second or two. The difference is that crate-opening didn't happen in the middle of combat.
This game looks like it was developed for vita then ported to other platforms. It has a kind of good looking, but also sort of limited polygonal look to it.
