Resident Evil: Village DRM affecting core gameplay (Digital Foundry)

Pretty laughable. Goes to show that DRM is very anti-consumer. Makes me thankful for websites like GOG to exist. Mind you, the only stutter I had was being attacked by the sisters, other than that, my experience with Village has been pretty smooth.

I know everyone has their priorities and not everyone has The Laser Eyes of Pixel Truth™ but this confirmation really makes me worried for people who said they didnt notice any stutters, the pauses are so freaking long, I guess maybe they just thought it was that "dramatic-pause-on-big-hit" effect thats in japanese games, or something similar.

Yes some people like me are very frame sensitive. I can always feel the stutters if it is there. And I hate that too when people say they don't experience anything. I always say show me a graph.

Good on Richard to call out Capcom and ask for comment from both Denuvo and Capcom. The gaming media needs to call out this BS more often.

Hopefully bringing attention to stuff like this will make developers and publishers realize that the user experience is ACTUALLY impacted by this stupid crap.

He is my fav. I like how he presented it too. If Capcom says its not DRM, does that mean Pirates are fixing the game. He is leaving no grounds for Capcom lol.

I'm gonna say it's probably not just the "DRM", but a combination of things interacting unfavourably.
I had zero of the problems shown in the video, and I was also streaming the entire playthrough on youtube.
The very lowest fps I personally saw was ~60, in the cutscene right after the first "survival" sequence in the village, where the guy comes all the way in your face.

Perhaps it's a nvidia vs amd thing, cause the video here shows an nvidia card, while I'm using an RX Vega.

Edit: here's the same sequence in my playthrough (timestamped):

And it's the same people who come to you and say "bruh it's your PC, learn how to use it before you complain I have no problem with my xxxx". Make me wanna scream AAAAAAAAAAAAAH FFS go check your eyes before talking to me you console peasant ! Edit: perfect example just above...
The fact that Capcom didn't fix the problem 2 months after the release just show how much they care about their player base.

No more games from Capcom will be installed on my PC.
