or.. um a gun from another well known FPS

the needler from Halo was also homing :)

The Needler isn't like Bullseye. It's a seeking gun thats it. The Bullseye allows you to either put a tag on an enemy or tag the ground where the gun will shoot bullets into a ball and then you can throw it at your enemy.

Just cause they both home-in doesn't mean they operate the same though.
The Bullseye can be used as a normal automatic rifle if you so wish. When pressing the secondary fire you fire a 'tag bullet' which the standard bullets will follow. You can set up 'bee swarm' traps with this as well simply tagging the enemy.
The Halo Needler has more in common with the HL1 bee gun than this.

I was thinking the same thing. Do people even watch videos or do they just go with the crowd?
I think its the poor textures on the 720p E3 trailer that draws attention away from the animation.

Those giffs look cool. The swarming homing bullets just take the freaking cake!!

tag.gif

Awesome, pure awesome.

I agree... This game still seems to have Insomniac's trademark touch of crazy weapons... yet it's not in a cartoony-bright-comedy type game this time... I didn't know if they'd pull crazy weapons like that off in a game like this, and keep it gritty, but damn... these guys are good...

Looks great, still dont know if an FPS will sell to the hardcore sony fans buying this thing on launch day.

It will sell if it rocks. Sony fans want a Halo caliber shooter on their system.

but it's inspired by the needler from Halo

Hey, maybe some Xbox and FPS fans will join in on the action as well as soon they hear about it or see it.

That's impossible to say with certainty as it works differently and who isn't to say the needler was inspired from the bee gun from HL1 and that gun being inspired from.. pretty pointless in the end. :)

Killzone 1 disagrees with you. It's a okay game that sold a few million copies. If this game can reach 9.0 status I can easily see it selling at least 2 million.

Half-Life 2 + Call of Duty 2 = Resistance

Resistance reminds me of those two games. And that's a good thing.

Here's hoping it's just as good...

Yep and MOH games sell pretty well to PS gamers also. It's not that PS gamers don't like FPS as much as there really haven't been that many great ones on the system.

I have heard a couple of people say this and I really don't think the typical hardcore sony fan is something that can easily be distinguished because the fan base is so big it pretty much has fans of every type of game.

It looks okay but it's looks average compared to the other next gen games that are currently be played. Those graphics aren't worth the 500-600 dollars for the PS3.

Which FPS games make it look average?

And why does ONE game have to justify $500-$600?

Do you only buy ONE game for your consoles? :lol

Again MAN, you don't buy the PS3 for one game. What about that don't you understand?

Wait, Killzone sold a few million copies?

2 million copies but I guess the best seller for these types of crowds(for ps2) was Socom(1) with 4.5mill.
MOH: Frontline sold 6.5mill but Im not sure how many of that are Xbox copies.

Ahh there it is.

Okay let me rephrase this way none of the PS3 games has shown me graphically to spend $500-$600 on it.

So go make another thread about that.

This thread is about Resistance in case you hadn't figured it out.

I know it's a matter of taste, but generic spider-thing #456 does not have a leg against HL's headcrabs.

Now, carry on.

WRONG!!!! *I need the Kevin Spacey gif :( *

Correct, artistically speaking. Technically the bald space spider is a more taxing model, but that shouldn't surprise anyone - HL2 relies on Valve's amazing artistry to do crazy things with low polygon budgets.

The HL2 crabs are inspired by that creature in the movie Alien. You know the one that attaches itself to the human's mouth and lays an egg.

The crabs in HL go for the mouth while the spider Resistance things go for a head kill with the spikes on its tail.

Hell, if there's one thing Resistance has going for it visually, it's good looking human character models:

Reasonably realistic, non oily skin, round head, detailed ears, non-zombie eyes, etc. etc.

The human model there is easily one of the very best I've seen in any game shown to date. Very nice. There's certainly nothing on the market that compares at the moment.
