Retail employees, have you ever noticed this ?

It seems that everytime someone comes into my store saying that one game isn't working in their console, it's almost always an EA game. I noticed that it seemed to happen more on Xbox too. Is EA making their discs in a cheap Mexico factory or something ?

Yes, I've also heard that if your child puts a tooth under their pillow, The EA fairy will steal it.

I have the biggest problem with the GTA games...9 times out of 10 when people return them its painfully obvious they treat them like crap.

I almost never had any problems with a GTA game. But, as I said, almost everytime a customer get some DRE with an Xbox game, it's either NFS : Underground 2, NHL 2005, Everything Or Nothing, etc.... with the only thing common to all these games is the EA logo on the box.

maybe cause EA games are the most common?
This could really be a factor. But normally, every other game works fine with the console, with the exception of the "said EA game". The problem is somewhat similar to PS2 consoles having trouble to read blue CD-ROM games after a while. One of my friend's PS2 had trouble to read blue discs, but only those made by Konami (Gradius V, Contra : SS). His Tekken Tag Tournament worked fine.

That's what I was thinking. If a system can't read a game, there's like a 50.50 chance it'd be an EA game, even if the error was generated randomly.

Actually, I think EA just uses really anal error code. A couple of times playing NFL Fever and now ESPN NFL2k5, if there was a problem streaming in announcer commentary off the disc, it was obvious the game was having trouble but they'd just ignore it and load in the next stuff. On MVP Baseball 2004, when it would have a problem loading something during gameplay BAM Dirty Disc Error.

I wonder that too. Especially more for DS controllers. What keeps someone from replacing their controller from 2 years ago that they treated poor yet well enough to switch and just return it after buying new one? Dont see any number on there and if guy going argue it came defective like you know punks will..

I think a more common complaint when I worked at the sales boat was that EA games actually murdered the customer's family, often through violent means. One time, a dishoveled customer walked in babbling, tears streaming down his cheek. I knew he didn't want to admit, but the sure tale signs were there -- he was raped. That poor bastard bought Need for Speed Underground for GameCube. There are no words.

I'm convinced Madden 2004 contributed to the early death of my first PS2. Every time I played it, the drive thrashed constantly. It was the only game to do that. After a couple of months playing the game, the disc drive died a noisy death one fateful night.

I am willing to believe that NCAA 2004 murdered my Xbox. It just started taking longer and longer to load and started giving DDEs like crazy. Poor poor petri.

Or maybe it's just because EA customers are usually stupid mainstream gamers who don't take care of their games properly?

You're jealous because they are the best.

I believe this! My PS2 has never loaded an EA game and is still working great with at least 5k dvd movies played besides games!
