Retro Studios Programmer,Mark Haigh-Hutchinson, Dies

very sad that such a talented person died so young, from such an awful disease.

may he rest in peace and may his family find comfort.

Damn it's always really sad when you hear about things like this.

I can understand what his family must be going through because I've been through it as well.

Your legacy will live on in your work, you have inspired many with your works. Sad that someone so young had this..

I will say a pray for you, but I know your in a better place. I will say a prayer fro your family as they have suffered pain way before they needed to..

RIP young man...

Damn, RIP. Pancreatic Cancer is absolutely devastating because there are usually no symptoms till its too late.

Wow, that's horrible. I lost an aunt to cancer. I never even knew her, but it messed my cousins up really bad, since they never had a mother around for most of their childhood. :(

Two deaths in a row, first Bruce Kelly from rumor reported died from a heart attack yesterday, and now this.

R.I.P. both of you.

I had the great privilege of being able to meet him at the GDC a few years ago when he was giving a presentation on his work with Prime 2. He was such a nice guy with a lot of excitement about his work, and it was such a great experience to have been able to have a conversation with him.
2005? My first GDC (and I think the first one in SF?). I went to that talk, and frothed with him afterwards about dragging cameras along splines. He was a lovely chap, and I regret not catching up with him later, as we worked on very similar systems.

I never did get critically damped springs to work though.

RIP mate.

I lost my father to cancer later that year. Cancer fucking sucks.

Pancreatic cancer needs better spokespeople. We hardly hear about any sort of charities or foundation championing it yet it is one of the most deadliest kind.

Tragic news. Another wonderful talent, taken before his time. Rest in peace. My thoughts are with his family.

Yeah, that was the one. It was a great presentation and I told Mark afterwards that he should do more. He left me with the impression of someone who you just would really enjoy working with. So sad. :(

His book was due out last week too. :(

R.I.P....

Reading about some of the games he made, I owned and loved a good bit of them, from Paperboy, right down to the first Metroid Prime...
