Retro Studios Programmer,Mark Haigh-Hutchinson, Dies

Rest in peace.

He had an incredible body of work. Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron and Metroid Prime... those are some treasured games from throughout my lifetime.

That sucks. Metroid Prime was one of my favorite games last gen and Dark Forces and Rogue Squadron were very impressive games given the time periods. RIP dear sir.

Thank you, Mark. The games you helped make are some of my most treasured ones. May you rest in peace.
My heartfelt condolences to family and colleagues.

thank you for your dedicated work and talent, Mark.

From the games mentioned he definitely looks to be an inspiration for future programmers getting into the game industry.

Gotta thank him for the hand in bringing one of my favorite gaming experiences ever with Metroid Prime. Condolences to his family and friends.

I don't think its quite out yet, amazon does this when a book is near publishing. I hope Mark was able to complete it, he sounds like he was a hell of a guy. I enjoyed the hell out of some the games he worked on, especially Rogue Squadron, Pod Racer, Shadows of the Empire, and most definitely Secret of Monkey Island 2.

RIP

I have nothing worthwhile to add to this thread...just wanted to say that it's very sad to lose this kind of a talent. My best wishes for his family.

RIP Mark. Your efforts alongside your coworkers at Retro accomplished something special - solidifying in my opinion the best Nintendo franchise of all time.

I wonder if his family has any idea how many people enjoyed the work he contributed to. How many people had great respect for what he did. I hope they do or will understand soon.

Thanks man! It was all great fun!

R.I.P - between Zombies ate my Neighbours, Rebel Assault, Sam & Max, Dark Forces and Shadows of the Empire, thats a sizeable chunk of my childhood right there, thank you man.

He's left behind some of the greatest games of our lifetime, and he accomplished so much. Still it's too bad he had to go so soon. R.I.P. Good sir! Many have appreciated what you have brought forth to the table, and may others build from it. Condolences to the family as well.
