Revolution: No d-pad and AB-buttons

although i do expect the investments they made in gyrations back in '01 to come into play.

Oh I'd be really shocked if it doesn't. Miyamoto has said they wanted it in the DS, but cut it because of cost, so the Revolution is the obvious home for the technology. It makes more sense anyway, a home console is so much better when titling the controller than a handheld (due to viewing angles, obviously).

you know... maybe the system will come with built in tilt sensors! Imagine the possibilities!
I'm really pumped about the possibility if a NiGHTS remake for Revolution. Wouldn't that... [please, I'm joking]
In all seriousness, "The Revolution will be a mock-up in a case at E3" is the word from Nintendo. So we'll see then.
There are trickles of information emerging though. This lack of certain button/other digital input does smack of guesswork, given what was already said by N regarding the machine. Other news is breaking today (I think) relating to possible price points.
Yay! It's the run up to E3 big annual games industry guess-a-thon!
Slightly off-topic, is anyone else not going to E3 this year? I’ve been for the past five and this year, although it’s going to be spectacular, I might go to France with my wife. I just can’t be arsed dragging myself around the LACC with a hangover.
Perhaps I'm just getting old! :(

Elaborate.
I can't, sorry! I just heard that there would be some financial news regarding future home console projects hitting today from an analyst friend. Didn't have tome to press him for anything else. we'll just have to wait I guess.

*yawn* No. That's what I was told by a Nintendo staffer. Thought it was relevant/of interest.

As of 30th December 1700 SPT, she'll be my wife dude! :)

There's no way Nintendo will announce a price 1+ year in advance. Silly Spong.
Because "some financial news regarding future home console projects" is a price announcement isn't it. Oh, wait a minute...
A city analyst says "I'm expecting some financial news regarding future home console projects from Nintendo at some point tomorrow," so I told you. Get. Over. It.

Heh, it's just that spong is notoriously wrong about everything. Well, almost everything.
We've not been wrong about anything for *ages* now. As I have said over and over, everything has changed here. I think it's more our gutter-tabloid writing style that grates. Everyone hates us and we don't care! :)

But I still love Folder!

Just had a thought:

The Revolution, whatever else it might be, will be a computer in a box. The computer in a box will pug into the back of your TV and play games (some of which will be online) via a very much standard controller and some other 'things' too.

Remember when the PlayStation 3 would be powered by some kind of amazing centralised super-processor brain? My money is on it being a computer in a box. The computer in a box will pug into the back of your TV and play games (some of which will be online) via a very much standard controller and some other 'things' too.

And as for the Xbox 2, well, I reckong it will be a computer in a box. The computer in a box will pug into...

Yes, but does it make waffles?

Well, heh, I was just exaggerating for effect. You do have a grating "gutter-tabloid writing style" as you put it, though. But I have read a lot of speculation about things at spong and it doesn't usually lend itself to the most accurate reporting imho. There was something you guys "predicted" a few weeks ago... I can't remember... but it hasn't come true yet even though it was supposed to by now or very soon.

Do you have time for a kiss? *haybaybee*

Oh, and congratulations on the whole "getting married" thing! I wish you nothing but the best in all your future endeavours.

Sshhhuuuuttt uuuuppppp! The waffle maker is the USP peripheral. Can you imagine Reggie's on-stage waffle demo. I'd fucking walk to LA to see that.

Thanks dude! I'm shitting myself but happier than I thought possible. Also, poorer!

Financial news regarding future home console projects is more likely to be related to how much money they're putting into its development, i.e. chip and manufacturing costs, than actual price.

Agreed. Still, I think he meant as in possible impact on price.

And so the Revolution begins.
Kind of a Spinal Tap moment. I like it. :)

I wish we lived in a world where the GameCube could produce some strong output for the next three years. I don't want a new system. I like the current gen.

What about using the DS as a control with Revolution? Could work with either a chord or wi-fi.

I can only hope for the best FPS controls on console without using a mouse and keyboard!

God, please no. DS not having an analog stick was one of the worst decisions in Nintendo's long history of stupid decision-making. :/

Indeed. With Nintendo constantly crying about having its ideas ripped iff, it really should have 'borrowed' the analogue nub (nub - that's the official word for it right? I prefer nipple, but hey, different strokes...) from the PSP. That and not had it designed by the Gadget Cliche-a-Tron 4000 Super Bland-o-Maker Series IV
:)
