Maybe I'm In minority here, but I really don't think the writing is as good this season. Did they get a whole new writing team?

It does seem like they've got a new writing team. Either that or they rushed it because they had to stick to a strict deadline.

I just finished watching S05E09 and E10. I thought they were quite good!

I've been a fan of Siobhan since her CollegeHumor days and I think she did a a fantastic job with the writing for Forgetting Sarick Mortshall. Without wanting to spoil too much for those who're entering this thread without having watching the episodes yet, Rickmurai Jack was a gem as well and it helped to finally progress the overall plot a little bit. I hope they take all of the fan feedback into account for the next seasons (which I believe are already somewhat ahead in production anyway), but these last two episodes show they still care about R&M.

The last three episodes were pretty much the main plot for this season. They did the story pretty well and the ending was good.

Citadel episode was good. But I understood half of it. What the fuck *actually* was the curve? What was Evil Morty's plan and where the fuck did he go?
I don't know if I feel dumb for not getting it, or if I feel they're trying to make the show sound smarter that it really is.

From what I got, the finite curve was a linked collection of the universe's the portal gun CAN travel to, but due to the overall Rick's ego, these universe's are where Rick is always on "top".

Evil Morty wanted to break that cycle by luring all the current Rick's to the citadel where their portal guns would become corrupted. That's why he was waiting for "our" Rick to get there as he's considered the smartest. Once the plan was activated to kill all the Rick and Mortys, Evil Morty then set to destroy the curve.

By destroying the curve the universe "lock" was lifted, the portal gun could access ranges outside of the curve. Evil Morty travelled outside of the curve and once he was in a new universe decided to activate the portal gun, which created a new yellow/gold portal.

No you're right, for the most part this season has been ass.
