Ridge Racer 64 is now available to play for #NintendoSwitchOnline + Expansion Pack members!

Released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64™ console, this arcade classic takes you on fast-paced races across three different environments for a total of nine courses! Dive right in with Quick Play to race three laps around the Revolution Novice course or take on Grand Prix and choose any available track to test your skills. Other modes include Car Attack, which lets you compete for better cars, and Time Attack, where the only thing you're racing against is your own best time! Challenge your friends in Multiplayer and put the pedal to the metal in three modes: Battle Mode, Stage Mode, and Team Mode.

Tried this out last night. Looks really sharp and clean on the Switch OLED in handheld mode, but there's some little oddities visually that are present that aren't on real hardware (and other emulators). Nothing huge, probably only people that played it a ton on real hardware will notice. Will be great for short spurts, a couple races here and there, save state, come back to later in the day.

Was RR64 good? I always dismissed it as a ghetto R4 wannabe. Big fan of the series in general, though - the games are still a great time.
It's definitely no R4, one of my favorite games of that gen, but I always enjoyed RR64. The new track is pretty good.

That's pretty accurate. It's a novelty curio which doesn't excel in any particular area. Like RRDS, It's made by Western devs and everything feels 'off'. It lacks the style, polish and vibe of Japanese RR games. It's actually not bad compared to other N64 racers though.
