Yahoo is also holding a live Q&A event on March 17th, with Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender.

Also, this guy made some pretty neat fan posters for Prometheus.

Love this one

The trailer looked amazing n 3D and I'm not a 3D guy. Might have to change that for this.

Designed from the ground up in 3D. Lindelof actually did a report about a year back where he described how they would approach the design and spacing of the sets with 3D in mind before they built them from scratch.

Just like Cameron or Scorsese or Jackson or Spielberg, Ridley Scott isn't some sloppy motherfucker that doesn't know what he's doing. It is going to be great.

Of all the trailers, you could tell that was the one that wasn't just converted. Can't believe I didn't notice the use of space when watching the trailer in 2d either.

I must say, seeing this on the big screen in front of John Carter made me really psyched. My pessimism is disappearing. I hope they don't screw with Alien's legacy now, because I'm really excited.

I've never seen a movie in 3D. I hope to change that this year with Prometheus and The Hobbit. What would be the best theater to see this in? My local theater in the middle of nowhere Ohio, has Real 3D. I understand that is digital but I don't know of the cons, if there are any. I could drive 2 or so hours to get to IMAX 3D. Is that preferred?

Will watch in 3D only because Ridley Scott knows his shit. Whether you personally agree with me or not, I don't think too many people would go "you crazy" if I suggested I consider Scott to be the finest visual director in the business. I trust his ability to artfully compose a shot for 3D more than I do even Cameron, simply because of the way his mind works.

I'll always have the blu ray to see it in 2D.

I still half suspect I'll prefer it in 2D, but I'm more than willing to give it a chance in 3D.

The Hobbit, on the other hand, I really think I'm just going to see in 2D first time around.

Know what my biggest worry is about 3D Prometheus? I really like film grain. That shit looks so good. Alien was lathered in it. The 2D trailers online for Prometheus seem to feature some. I don't know how that'll look in 3D. The only 3D films I've seen so far (Avatar and some animated ones) have been pristine.

Isn't the pristine look a director choice? I can't think of anything about 3D that limits film grain.

No, I'm not saying "it's 3D therefore it won't have grain", I'm saying I don't think grain will look quite so good in a 3D film because grain is a very 2D visual element, you dig?

Like how smudges on a 3D screen can ruin the entire illusion.

I do wonder what kind of scope we're looking at here. Will we get a Kingdom of Heaven type epic? Or will it be a clausterphobic crew-centric story. It's looking a lot like the latter, with a few big set pieces and cgi here and there.

Why no trailer for the trailer for the trailer? We peasants don't deserve to get the goods so soon. With that said, I enjoyed the experience of anticipating my experience of the preview of my experience of the full Prometheus experience.

Thinking epic in scope during set up and then more claustrophobic in final act.

Come to think of it, trailers are almost always better than the movie itself. So having a trailer for the trailer kinda makes sense.

This and The Hobbit are the only films I'm interested to watch in 3D.

Prometheus because Ridley Scott has a famously excellent visual eye. And The Hobbit because of 48 FPS bliss. I hope that becomes influential. Maybe when James Cameron makes another billion + with Avatar 2 shot at 60 FPS. 48/60 FPS needs to be the new 3D, especially if you're going to actually shoot in 3D.

Even 2D would benefit from a higher framerate.

Panning on 24fps movies should be prohibited, or called powerpointing.

I'd love to be as excited for this film as everyone else is but I just can't. It's a case of 'twice bitten' for me when it comes to FOX and their genre films especially the Alien and Predator films.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be there opening day, but no matter how good the trailers have been my expectations couldn't be lower.

Which, tragically, might be the best mindset to have going in to see this film.

All signs in the marketing point to a direction's vision coming through without the interference of studio heads.

I saw the teaser on the big screen Saturday when I went to see Silent House.

God damn the visuals were breathtaking on the big screen. This is the sort of gritty sci-fi that's been missing. Every shot had a very grandiose look to them. I think it's time I start hyping this movie up to all of my friends.
