How come The Olympics and World Cup are always such a disaster?
When the committee responsible for choosing the host countries decide based on who bribes them the most instead of who actually has the best proposal this sort of thing happens.

It can't possibly be worse than Sochi's toilet paper trash cans, can it???

Can we just stop this shit show now?
"The system failed. Water came down walls, there was a strong smell of gas in some apartments and there was "shorting" in the electrical wiring. "
Cancel this shit
How come The Olympics and World Cup are always such a disaster?

Oh my god, I was just thinking the same thingSounds like a Hitman level. If someone starts chucking coins just run.
They shouldn't allow developing nations to bid for this shit. It doesn't earn them anything but fucking over their own people for subpar preparations. These countries are not equipped to host this shit and it only hurts their own economy to try.
Of course when first world countries host these events they are more successful.
Aren't kangaroos mean and shit?
LA, please, don't fall for this. Please withdraw. Don't do this. Fuck these guys
That's a nice combination.
This is getting silly.
Just because Rio fucked up doesn't mean the Olympics cannot be pulled off well.
2000
2002
2006
2008
2010
2012
All went off without any major failures.
2004 was GOAT
2004 was GOAT
2004 was GOAT
LA already has the infrastructure, though.
Are we going to get something similar to sochiproblems?
Actually, most of the complaints are that they didn't do that.Misread your post. But this is correct. I guess we'll see on this one though.
The Brazil Olympics has been a political hotbed from the beginning. Building huge stadiums and athletic facility in poor areas of the country. Taking people's homes to build it when there really isn't a large enough market to make those huge public stadium projects worth it.
Considering the disaster it turned into after the fact I couldn't include it.
When was the last time somebody died at the Olympics due to accidents or filth?

Sochi. Skeleton racer was going to fast round a corner, flew off and went backwards into a concrete column. They then added padding and reduced the track length.
Pretty sure that was Vancouver...
You know Tokyo got this in 2020.
Rio not so much.
Because they waste a ton of money to build new venues and in the process they fuck their own people over, billions wasted for 2-4 weeks...
They need to start putting these events in places already set to host without having to add a single new venue...
