My cat died in her sleep tonight. It was horrible, because she's been getting weaker and weaker. We couldn't afford the vet, but I don't think they could have done anything. She was 13 years old. I just can't beleive she's dead.

My condolences Nikashi. What kind of cat was she?

My condolences.
I'm not looking forward to the day my first cat (first pet in fact) will die, I sure will be a mess for quite some time :(

My condolences Nikashi.

Forgive my ignorance, what happens to dead pets? Are they buried(do they have a special cemetery) or are they thrown away?

Sorry to hear your cat died :( Losing a pet is really hard, I know that from experience

sly, most people bury their pets. We buried my rabbit when she died. You can also have them cremated. When my sister's dog died, she had it cremated and placed in a little box with an inscription on it.

sorry to hear :( at least she went peacefully in her sleep. cats are awesome :(
Yep, mine went slowly and painfully just a few weeks ago, he was in a living hell. Consider yourself lucky that your cat went in her sleep.

Nikashi, sorry to hear about your cat, dude.

I have 2 older ones (both over 13) and I realize that they both have more days behind them than ahead.

It's going to REALLY suck having to lose them when the time comes. I have a LARGE Silver Tabby named Bubba thats been my buddy for 13 years.

I think we're going to have her cremated, since she was important to quite a few people over the course of her long life, and this way, each of us can have a little part of her.

I'm still really having problems with this.

sigh........I know how you feel I put my dog down on sunday....try to take comfort in the fact that she lived a long and full life and didn't suffer very much...and just hang in there I know it's not easy.

When you've had a pet for that long, it's going to take awhile to be able to get back to normal, though "normal" is minus your pet, so it's still not the same as it once was.

Tomorrow will be a week since our doggy died, and it's still not "right" to me... I guess all you can do is remember the good things about your pet.

Sorry, sir. :(

Exactly......It's like you lose a part of yourself...I know it's a cliche but thats the only way I could think to put it. again Im sorry for your loss......
