I'm part of the "people in general" tuning in for the mystery part of it. Everything you're typing seems to indicate you're reading your own predispositions into what you're looking at online. People continue to contradict your assertions in this thread, but you're ignoring them to confirm your own bias.
You thinking anything does not equate with the general public, or less generally, the fans of this show thinking the same thing.
Basically, you've made up your mind, and no information presented to you will change it. Fine, that's your perogative -- but, constantly posting that why people in this forum like the show is wrong and positing the show is crap is just shitty behavior.
sameI'm here for Betty and Veronica.
I'm here for Betty and Veronica.
4. Thirsty bitches lusting over Archie/Betty/Veronica/the ridiculously attractive castThere are three types of people watching this show
1. People who are familiar with the Archie brand
2. People here for the teen drama(see people who also watched gossip girl, and every other show l)
3. People here for the murder mystery
I came because of the Archie brand but they suck at that
at least they got a decent murder mystery going on
I'm pretty sure that you will never find an opinion which will qualify for you as a "compelling reason", because you seem more intent on disqualifying opinions which differ from yours than listening to them. You complain about how people aren't "substantiating" their opinions, but neither are you.Yeah, you're still not getting something kinda simple. No, people don't keep contradicting my assertions, because I never made those assertions. It's really simple.
When someone says people aren't tuning in for a specific reason, that doesn't mean literally everyone. I don't know how many times such a thing needs to be repeated. This is the way the English language works. You can use context.
How many times does I have to literally say, I am commenting on the viewing public not on gaffers. I said it literally. Its your prerogative to disagree with me, but you're not even addressing the actual argument other than, " I like it." Seems like you're just in a rush to contradict without actually reading my posts.
You can tell me why I'm wrong about my opnion. But saying " gaffers like the mystery" is not an argument, because I never said gaffers didn't. Doesn't change that it's dead mediocre, imo. Haven't read a compelling reason why it's interesting, fresh or unique.

It is why I'm here. It is certainly not for Archie as I only know it through the Simpsons.see 2. those are the same people who watched vampire diaries, and gossip girl.
I've never read Archie and I'm a pretty bug comics guy.
I'm just here for the pretty people and Twin Peaks ultra lite.
Read Waid's book man, it's great.
It's okay. It has the same problem as the show, where Archie is just not as interesting as his supporting cast. Although if they made show-Archie a klutz, I'd be down.
Oh shit, it's written by Waid?Read Waid's book man, it's great.

The hell happened to Miss Grundy from the comics? LOL!
Not that I am complaining....
how has no one giffed veronica walkin away in that one piece
i gotta learn how to do that
I said it in my previous post already. For the soap elements and the beloved characters. And please try not being so pedantic guys. The you is the rhetorical you. Like people in general tuning in. I'm not reading your mind personally.
A lot of people saying ' but I like it', and not one defense for why its actually good. Not surprised personally. It'd be nice if people actually engaged my opinion of the show rather than devolve into nitpicking words or what I think are irrelevant tangents.
The point is the murder mystery is, I think the murder mystery is crap. And I have a hard time believing many hardcore nerds would care for this show if it wasn't based off Archie. That doesn't mean that applies to every single gaffer, I would hope that goes without saying. Perhaps I'm wrong. I don't think so, though.
It's thoroughly mediocre crime fiction. The soap elements have some life in it, though. Just barely. When someone says no one would watch it, or no one watches it, they don't literally mean not a single soul, just shorthand for relatively very little, get small ratings, etc.
Tumblr has probably made a gif out of every second of this show by now haha

I'm dropping this. It's humorless and bland. There's ZERO Twin Peaks in this. The mystery is rote and being doled out at a snails pace.
It's a quality teen soap drama with cheesecake shots, little else.
One of my wife's friends has a strong distaste for the show due to her allegiance to old school Archie.
I think there is a 4th kind of person as well.
4. People who were conned into watching CW shows due to Supernatural and somehow found themselves watching everything they offer now.
Top suspects?

I've being watching since they were two separate networks, UPN and The WB. They had Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: Voyager, Nowhere Man, The Sentinel, Smallville, Veronica Mars, Felicity, and Angel. The CW has long been the only place to get genre shows, because the big networks tend to avoid the stuff and Syfy stopped completely for a good number of years. (They're back baby!).
But yeah, I watch most of their stuff.

Betty's mom. Because fuck that lady.Top suspects?
The Vampire Diaries got me hooked to The CW. So I'm forced to try every new show. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin are the only ones I'm not watching this year.
We used to get UPN comedies where I live. I saw Everybody Hates Chris, Malcolm & Eddie, Moesha, One on One, Shasta McNasty. We got less WB comedies. Only remember Reba and Raising Dad. On the other hand, we did get their drama like Popular, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Felicity.
You fucked up
I watch very little comedy week to week nowadays. They go in the 'Wait for DVD boxset' pile. No Tomorrow got the exception because I couldn't not watch Joshua Sasse and Tori Anderson.

I also got into the CW with The Vampire Diaries and ever since I've continued with The Originals, now The 100 and all the superhero shows and Riverdale. I saw the pilot of No Tomorrow and liked it, is it worth finishing? Does it have a fulfilling end? I also really need to get going with both Crazy Ex and Jane the Virgin; absolutely loved the first five episodes of this show.I watch very little comedy week to week nowadays.
