I cant beat the ed 209 boss fight and it feels like it takes to long and the cover sucks any tips
That boss fight at Extreme was devastating for me.
Had sore hands after 20 or more tries and was forced to "cheat" by hiding behind the van and only after I found the environmental help from above, because I was ready to give up otherwise.

As said, use all explosives you can on the road towards the van on the opposite side. Go there and stay behind it after it explodes, ED can't hit you but you can hit him, it just takes a lot of time. Shoot the crane right above him from that spot for some extremely helpful and huge extra damage.

This was particularly hard because after maxing out Deduction I went with Engineer LV.2 after someone said it was essential for an otherwise missable Trophy, when in reality it wasn't needed at all and all you had to do was exploring to find a manual instead. I basically had no Vitality nor Armor during the fight, but after finding out the "cheat" it's a walk in the park.

However I'm thinking about dropping the difficulty hoping there's no Trophy tied to them, because I'm currently doing the challenge against OCP in the Bank and it feels impossible, literally impossible with a controller, and I want all Rank A.

Just beat it using your van tip and shooting the crane!

I don't care what movie brand they do next but it has to be something where you are powerfull and kill humans or humanoid stuff, they have too much of a great gunplay to do alien or stuff where you don't shot stuff.

They need to continue with the power fantasy style, not weak protagonists.

Predator or dredd would be my choice.

Yo Chuck Berry Chuck Berry i have an unrelated question, does immortals of avernum has ragdoll when you kill enemies? i swear i watched 30 min of gameplay but the magic effects are so over the top that i can't even see if enemies have ragdoll when they die or if they have precanned death animations, can you tell what is it?

I dont think they ragdoll at all really? I think they just float a little and then disintegrate as soon as you kill them.

Jesus, what a way to save on performance in a damn fps...

Yeah its a weird game in many ways not just technically. You should check it out for sure. Maybe not pay full price but def check it out.

I give it the "Best Game No One Played" award for 2023. It does the Metroid stuff real good. The exploration aspect is extremely satisfying.

I stopped basically as soon as I got the grapple beam :messenger_expressionless:

Had to do it twice because in the first I tought you could go back to the first area to collect things, but you can't. Don't know if it's the haptics or adaptive triggers or whatever but my hands are on fire and the heart still racing.

Love this game.

It's 35 euros on epic store but no ragdoll in a game where you kill stuff is a big hit for me, i need visual variety when i kill stuff.

I'm not talking about different powers with different visual effects, but when you kill enemies, how they fall, how their bodies react to environment, etc. it's not a secret why 95% of games where you kill stuff have ragdoll.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I vastly prefer the more cheesy version of stallone.
I thought I was the only one

But I want them to expand out of their FPS games and explore other stuff
Maybe a Die Hard Trilogy

I think I'm one of the few that vastly prefer that Judge Dredd movie over the newer one. Karl Urban looked the part but the movie had no charm and didn't feature the villains I liked (ABC Robot and the cannibals). Give me Judge Death for fuck sake!!

On topic though, I really want to see a modern Judge Dredd game, give it to this studio too.

Started my second play through. One of the things that's grabbed me is how reflections look at night with flashing lights etc. Really like em. They look pretty good.

Dude i really don't think that we are the minority here...

This scene alone is more iconic than the entire new dredd

The robot was terryfing and the actor has such a big screen presence, i barely remember the villain in the new dredd.

Started playing this on PS5 performance mode and there's some weird glitching in cutscenes, when it snaps from one character to another you can see some artifacting I guess thats what id call it for a second.

The game is super jank but its fun, gameplay is perfect just the cutscene stuff is jarring.

It must be a console thing because on pc the game was quite polished except for the loading texture thing.

Yeah, there was a bug on PC that I came across once that dropped my FPS, but I relaunched and it fixed it. Other than that, it was just minor tearing and texture issues. Game ran wonderfully and looked great too.

Since I got there, figured might as well contribute to the comparison made by adamsapple adamsapple and MidGenRefresh MidGenRefresh , and while doing so I found some pretty interesting things:

PC:

PS5 (Quality):

Xbox Series X (Quality):
robocop_roguecity-20267i3l.png

PS5 (Performance):

As already noted before the Xbox version looks indeed severely compromised when it comes to distant detail, but it's now obvious compromises are not limited to just that.
Tons of shaders appear to be missing from this version in general, as noted on the "All Mega Store" looking identical to the PC version on PS5 but noticeably different/more crude on Series X, inferior IQ likely due to different resolutions, and reflections also appear different compared to the other two versions.

All three are featured in this GIF and, again, while PS5 and PC are visually absolutely identical the third one is obviously not.

Here a closer look at the most noticeable discrepancies:

Luckily during daytime the framerate is also considerably more stable in downtown on Performance mode on PS5 compared to the earlier chapter.
This game got a very damn solid physical version, they really did a good job on PS5 especially considering this version is going to be literally flawless once played via BC on most powerful machines.

Hopefully, that's not the view the developers share. I don't see why anyone would want the PS5 to be relegated to a placeholder system that gets whatever it can get, but hey think of the future systems. LOL

That actually happened a bit to X1 after X1X released, there is nothing good about that.

Sure, in general I absolutely agree. But here?
The same area during daytime is rock solid 60fps on PS5.
So imagine Teyon downgrading the game, removing all those lights, lowering resolution and simplying reflections, simply for a more stable Performance mode in that one nightime Chapter.

The rest of the entire game would look drastically worse to make happy literally no one. No thanks.
These are barely more than indie devs, and achieved something that's blowing my mind and at 60fps at that. I can't complain in the slightest.

@ Vick Vick , I think you overlook the fact that they can make level specific, and even scene specific, optimizations. If they needed to remove the lights from that one chapter at night, or lower the res, or whatever cutbacks they needed to do, that's what they should have done. A 60fps mode with drops down to the low 40s isn't something to praise, ever. They don't have to make every change across the entire game.

It's not like the Xbox port isn't without its issues either, it looks like they carried over a lot of the XSS optimizations and just upped the resolution for XSX. It is a smaller dev like you said though, with a few patches they can probably find some happy mediums.

It looks like a fun game, not trying to knock it at all.

Let ED-209 kill you and be happy. Why would you want to attack my boy?
YOU CALL THIS A GLITCH!?

3rd playthrough now and Im going to 100% it. Just did all sidequests after the intro mission. Can't believe I missed 2 of them at first. And I still need the Good eyes, Murphy trophy.

Looks like they used an upscaled Series S version for the X? As in: They cut back on a few things for Series S and decided to bump the resolution for the Series X?

Try to optimize your gun with the best upgrades you have.
As for robocop upgrades armor lv2 and engineering lv2 are kind of mandatory imo.
Armor lets you off with way less damage and engineering allows you to get out of the way quick.
I did it like this

The game is really not that hard if you power up. Plus they give you lots of healing items.

Yes. Hide. There's a van when you start. Make Ed follow you, blow it up and hide behind it. You can shoot ED from cover without taking any hits. Fairly easy. Even without any skills appointed to focus, combat whatever.

If you have OCP recovery charges at full, might as well toss a few canisters before hiding.

Good eyes Mutphy is found in the
train level and when you set the train in reverse, follow it and climb it where it stops and it should be around there on the upper level

Yeah i know where to find it but I only figured out yesterday that you dont need Engineering level 3 for it.....

Someone in the topic suggested that one, i was just shamelessly parroting.

Yeah it's fucking genius.
Yep that was me, Dread would be perfect, Mega City One is just 1 big tower, could do that and the outside region really well, Dread vs Death was a fantastic game in its day that was very overlooked

Anyway, rolled credits, loved every minute of it, that final run up is pure RoboCop porn, I knocked it down to easy after I finished and replayed it, just for the power fantasy, that with the Music, my god they capture RoboCop so, so well and would love a sequel down the road, this team "gets" it, for me a solid 9/10 and will be overlooked I think this year as so many great games have come out
