RoboCop: Rogue City |OT| Somebody Call A Goddamn Paramedic!

Can anyone confirm if this has native HDR on either XSX or PS5? My understanding is that it doesn't? Cheers.

Terminal resistance was ok. I just beat it recently. I didn't like the feel of the guns there was no weight to them. Voice acting wasn't convincing either. The infiltrator mode was fun for a short burst to kill regular humans. It played like a test for Robocop gameplay in the infiltrator mode.Robocop is great weapons feel good with impact and it's fun. Glad that they have improved on everything they worked on

Anyone else on Xbox and having the "good eyes, Murphy" or whatever achievement glitch? It's the last achievement I need.

Edit, never mind, it randomly gave it to me.

Finished it tonight. I think it took me 11 hours to fully beat it, though I did skip on some side missions. Perfect length imho, came in and got out before it overstayed its welcome.

I only have two complaints. One, the main villain voice actor was trash. Why did he seem like he was whispering most of the time? And the second is too many boss battles that were just Destiny type bullet sponge stuff.

Somehow I immediately knew this was made by Terminator Resistance devs.

They are getting in the groove of making under appreciated AA games. Well not anymore I guess seeing the reception with zero marketing.
Please don't go AAA open world now you.

Yeah, would be great if they grew as a studio, but maintained their current AA mid-size budget approach. Would be a real shame if they turned out to become like one of the current AAA publisher monstrosities.

Damn, so getting back to this after finishing off Alan Wake and I've gotta say this can get really difficult, for a walking Tank RoboCop does not take a lot of Damage and doesn't move quick at all, just finished the Quarry mission with the boss fight at the end
Fucking Ed-209! I knew it would be a fight in this, but its really good

it did take me a fair few attempts to get through this level, those fucking Landmines in the water fucking suck so much, you can barely see them and Robo's scanner doesn't pick them up

Can't get enough of RoboCop!

Refunded AW2 and got Robocop instead.. Played it and it feels good, couldn't be happier about my decision.

..Yeah ok it kinda feels like an AA game at times, but I can definitely sense that the developer is potent. So it would be interesting to see what they could do with a bigger budget.

Finished in about 16+ hours.

I was surprised how well the pacing was overall. The little tasks in-between the action were just enough without being a drag.

Hoping for an Expansion and New Game Plus.

Doesn't...wonder if it has auto hdr tho on xbox
Thanks for confirming! Unlikely on the auto HDR front for my XSX. As any new games dont ever have it as far as I'm aware. Frustratingly, I believe it was limited to only being an option as part of the back compat program they ran for a while i.e only select older games ever got Auto HDR option.

God damn, is fucking criminal that graphics like that doesn't have HDR. Might still buy it cause of the positive impressions and screenshots.

Finally getting decently into the game now that I have time and the upgrades, and now hot on the trail of the main bad guy

I will say, its making me want to check out the devs previous Terminator game, this one is clearly made with a lot of love for RoboCop, Terminator has a bit more lore so could be good

Also, I just realised, we need a new RoboCop film or series, its been too long

I kind of want to know how this compares to the console. I mean we talkin 80% the same, or no contest….

I think it's actually pretty close. On PC you get much better resolution, framerate and clarity but that's just what you get in every single game.

adamsapple adamsapple posted a comparison few pages back and there were some lights missing here and there and maybe reflections but other than that it was pretty close.

I've posted a few pictures in this topic.

Generally the console version looks good, the Performance mode is pretty soft but what can you do.

Also, the performance is extremely good 99% of the game, but in some big set pieces, you have huge gun fights in interior locations with a lot of desks and pillars etc, and when the destruction kicks in, the game was definitely dropping frames below the VRR level here and there. But, again, those were outliers. In general, the game performed extremely well.

This is the comparison MidGenRefresh MidGenRefresh is talking about earlier. As you can see, in Quality mode, the console version is very competent to the PC version.

Just a side note... that pic from comparison is not captured at 4K as I completely forgot to adjust resolution in the settings and it's rather blurry... The ones I've posted yesterday/the day before in this thread are at 4k in 21:9 and yeah, you can see it's sharp as a razor, even with the image compression.

This part was surprisingly tense. You really needed to look HARD into that murky, muddy water to just barely get a glimpse of one. And they're all over the place.

In my future playthrough I need to try just grabbing something and tossing it into the water to see if the landmines explode. It should work.

They also do ALOT of damage, one shotting you on Normal in some cases, and Robo cannot jump (for some reason, I'm not actually sure if he can jump)

Fortunately a bunch are close together so a few times i was able to connect explosions and knock out a group at once but man, it was still stressful lol

I wonder what would happen if you try to dash through them lol

Does this have raytracing on PS5? Water on the floor is shinyyyyy

My completely untrained guess is that it's SSR + Planar. Cause the reflection quality doesn't change much (Besides resolution) between Quality and Performance mode, and if they're getting the reflections in 60, it's ultra impressive for an AA team.

You can see the SSR peeling away very easily in most reflections, the easiest one is the big puddles next to the theaters. Pan the camera up and down and you'll see all the finer details on the reflections disappear but a cruder version of the buildings still remains.

Very surprised DF, NXG or anyone hasn't done a video on this yet. It's the best example of what an AA studio can do with UE5, so far, IMO.

I am blown away with the quality despite the fairly modest budget. I really hope DF gives this a spin.

How long did it take you guys to beat?
I beat it this morning in about 13.3 hours. I absolutely loved it. I was doing everything I possibly could along the way because I didn't want it to end. Here's to hoping there's some DLC, or even a sequel.

Teyon does some wild work with what they have, they really do. For any of you that enjoy/enjoyed this that haven't played Terminator Resistance, please do yourself a favor and check it out as well.

looks real to me

Honestly, the game is really pretty, especially for such a small budget. I don't think people are giving it nearly enough credit.

Is the quality mode playable though? One review I watched said it was one of THOSE quality modes that feels awful to play

It's 30 FPS and the motion blur felt like it was very low shutter speed, so it doesn't exactly do much to make it feel smoother.

It's a first person shooter so the 60 FPS Performance mode felt a lot better to play, so that's what I used.

Watching Jeff Gerstmann stream. he loves the game in "so bad it's good" and I can see that.
He got a 4090 and the game is really stuttering and there is a ton of pop in I see.
I though nanite means no pop in.

People love the game because it's good. You should try it and not watch streamers play like a 11 year old. Support polish economy.
I don't care if it's polish lol.
I will get the game when I want to play it. I got other stuff to play now.
And I've only seen few minutes of Jeff playing. Not spoiled much.
But if you are saying that watching streamers is something only kids do, that would trigger me. I love watching streams

Game is dirt cheap, give it a try. Plus there's a free demo on Steam. Much better than watching some wanker online play.
