I'm going to guess accident because the demo wasn't anywhere on the console marketplace. You had to snag it from the website.
I found out about it because it was one of the first ads on the 360 "Spotlight" page. Didn't have to go to the online marketplace at all.

I called keyboard weeks ago. When there's a realtar too you can all give me a nice foot massage.

Hopefully a game filled with cheesy rock from the 80s doesn't distract from the guitar experience too much :(

The guitar experience is going to be terrible now. HMX doesn't overchart like NS, unless when they track the keyboard to the guitar. Now they can't.

We all know how I feel about the Beatles but this is fuck-all awesome.

I can't wait for Dave to be an elitist snob against keyboards now!

Well my first reaction to it was "fuuu, bye bye good guitar tracks", but as long as they pick a bunch of 80s movie themes I think we'll be fine.

They seriously need to retroactively add keyboards to a LOT of the previous songs, all if possible.

We definitely do require the re-release of several Who songs, for sure.

How are they going to go back and retroactivly add keyboard to songs that already track the keyboard to guitar? They are going to remove parts of the guitar track?

Fuckin' Foreplay.

I can't be the only one who thinks releasing a new instrument in the current climate is maybe a bit risky though, right? The people have spoken; they don't want to spend much money.

Well, none of the Who songs had keyboard mapped to guitar, so that would be easy. Stuff like Shining Star or Smokin' could very well be re-released with additional RB3 files that only that game will be able to detect for keyboard parts (similar to how RB2 detects manual HOPOs and drum solos) while the chart remains the same for RB1/2.

I'd say it's more "We already have drums and guitars and microphones, thanks.". I mean, DJ Hero did pretty well for itself, so the market can't be that tired of plastic toys.

Great, more things for csb to bitch about. I can't wait.

He'll never get another Smokin' again :(

It's important they sell it right. Harmonix employees that are stupid enough to occasionally browse this thread; RELEASE A FUCKING GAME/KEYBOARD BUNDLE.

I would be, too; keyboard is a really big addition and something that I would imagine more than a few new customers would be interested in. I'm sure it'll get a big focus.

Keyboard also means that there's no excuse for classic prog bands now. GET ON IT, GUYS.

So I played through the GD:RB demo again after my wife left for work and I could crank it up and the calibration still feels off. I played RB2/Beatles with 0 Video / 30 Audio for my receiver, and it's just about perfect. Did the same thing on GD (and even tried 0/0 because I ran with that for almost a year), and still ended up missing silly stuff.

I even tried two different guitars, thinking maybe one of them was fritzing out, and had the same problem. Popped in RB2 and everything's fine. I'm only missing things I actually missed. Hopefully I can find some good numbers for GD:RB or else I'm gonna get pissed.

yeah, I just used the auto cal for my guitar (drums weren't in the house still lol), and it was like 45/30 for me, when I was usually 0/0. had no issue with those settings though. just thought it was odd that it was a different calibration.

Mgmt already has 3 singles off Congratulations.
1. Flash Delirium
2. Siberian Breaks
3. It's working

The video for it's working was done by the same guy who did Dance by Justice so it should be decent.

Might have to go "rent" a Strat from GameStop to calibrate. I was playing 0/0 for a long time and decided to try the Strat's calibration and it gave me 0/30, and I seemed to play just the same, but other people played better.

After my RB2 session today, I'm gonna go back and try something in GD. I noticed that it went when doing the manual calibration, it asked for audio first and then video, when in RB2 and Beatles, it's the other way around. I wonder if just the menus are reversed and I was plying with 30ms video lag, which would definitely screw me up, but not enough to miss every note.

Does It Offened You, Yeah? in RB3 plz. And Klaxons.

I wonder how the break down will work. Will all songs on the disc have keyboard? Will all DLC from now-ish onwards?

a full fledged keyboard would be astronomically expensive. given that the genre is on the decline, I wouldnt bank on this happening.

How much is astronomically expensive to you? I bought a full keyboard for $100 a few months ago so I imagine one for Rock Band will a fair amount less going on can cost $50-60.

I just thought of how they're going to be able to have 5 people playing at once.

They're going to have the option to do vocals in conjunction with any other instrument (meaning they can tie a mic to any controller), and also have the avatar do both actions (sing and play guitar, drum and vocals, keyboard and vocals, etc.).

This works. I buy it.

I hope they do a better job of letting you see your vocal performance while you play guitar/drums/etc.

Just thought about something. Harmonix said they were working on getting japanese songs in RB, right ? Knowing how this things work, it's a safe bet to say that said japanese songs won't make it to the store before RB3, right ? If so, then : plz hmx

EDIT : Wait, no, better. POLYSICS : ROCK BAND. OR DIE!!!

Obviously it wouldn't be the full band finale but come on dude, no way would Hocus Pocus be harder to sing than that.

Gotta agree with you here; Hocus Pocus is more or less the same line over again, whereas Clare Torry sounds like it's her last day on earth. It's not even fair to Focus!
