I don't understand this screen. Why is it tiered like this?

Still doesn't make sense. It's sorted by difficulty. And this has to be guitar as both of the RB2 songs are in the same guitar tier, however Let there be rock, spoonman, shacklers revenge, and rock n me should be in between.

Unlocking songs one by one confirmed?

Yep. They mentioned in the past there would be challenges that required DLC, both to keep the challenge variety going (only so many ways to work with 84 songs) and to induce more DLC sales.

So rather than picking an arena to play in, you pick a default that is used all the time? Am I reading that right? I think that's probably the most elegant way to handle having God knows how many venues, but it still isn't really perfect.

Images like this still concern me. So long as they stay out of whichever mode tracks my scores I guess it's OK.

I think without it enabled the game randomly chooses a venue for each song or new setlist you create in quick play. with it enabled you get a menu with all the venues listed before you play?
 
Here is hoping the time lapse between songs in select your setlist isn't that long so I can do whole albums like I'm listing to it.

I think it's just giving you the option of picking a venue before playing a song.

I could be wrong but I think putting a check in that box means you choose for a "Select Your Venue" screen to appear somewhere in the screen flow when picking songs in Quickplay. Otherwise it'll just follow whatever the current venue selection method is. (Yeah, dumb, can't think of it at the moment. Random otherwise?)

But it's in the "Modify Game" menu. Which appears to be in the "Extras" (see here) Which makes it look like a game-wide option?

Hopefully. I mean, it's cool looking, but it's still very busy.

You've got to unlock the songs in Tour first before playing in Quickplay, just like in RB1.
 
I know they're used for the music video challenges, I just hope that's all they're used for. They could still throw that filter on randomly mid song.

Wouldn't those options only be available for quickplay/band quickplay? At least no fail mode anyway

it might be song specific when not playing music video challenges. ala Black Hole Sun.

I'm not 100% on the structure of the game this time around, but my understanding is that the good old fashioned "solo tour" no longer exists in it's tiered, progressive structure, and so Quick Play is where I'm going to be going primarily to pick songs to set scores on. So that option is basically "what area do you want to play in when you play in Quick Play mode, while Tour mode will still be based on the location on the map". May be wrong, and it's not like I care, just trying to get an idea of the layout.

at least your not limited to how many fans you can get. which is more realistic cause there are some medium real life bands who have millons of fans. :lol

fans is more about who is playing the most now.

I'd rather they be unlocked in groups.

They still haven't showed it, but I am hoping for their mode that makes song pergression like GH1,2,3, and Rock Band 1.

I'm not going through tour until my 2nd round.
 
I don't get the point in locking the songs. Let people play shit and fail. They'll know not to go back.

Fair enough I guess. I went from single player tour primarily so I had some savings before it came to World Tour.

As in 5 songs at a time? Nope, you'll have to play Tour first to get all the songs, one at a time, either that or you can use the cheat to have all songs the first time around.
 
I finally beat Green Grass and High Tides and Flirting With Disaster on hard today. The achievement pop for 90 points was immensely satisfying.

Seeing that is beautiful.

Dave, what you are seeing there is NOT the Select Venue Screen, it's the option to ENABLE that before you pick a song. So it's either RANDOM or YOUR CHOICE.

Unchecked, that means in Quickplay, there's no choice of venue.
Checked means that you'll get that between songs.

Also, like someone else said, I'm close to going into RB shutdown mode.

Navigating the Solo Career song list is a BITCH and tracking scores is useless. I'm close to buying that $26,000 ring, but that's it. And I know my characters and save files will be reset. I'm probably going to use this time to finish up other games.

Holding off on DLC until RB2 launch.

Of course! I had to have two GoatTar's, and those were $66,666 each! Of course our band rocked so many fans and had hella bankroll too. Whenever an option came up to double fans or money, we always took it.

Yep, me too. I'll pick up Moving Pictures but it's not going to get much playtime until RB2.

It would be nice if they could release a separate retail disc called Rock Fucking Band and release all the parental advisory / M-rated level tracks through that.

Here are some nitpicks:

On the Film Student Video Shoot prompt, why is the text block not centered (and aligned with the response options) on the screen?

On the Modify Game screen, why is the description text in all-caps when that font is much more legible in standard case?

I hope these little niggles are fixed.
