Does anyone know how fast (or slow) the free GameStop value shipping is? Getting GD:RB from Amazon on release day for a few extra bucks out of pocket is probably worth it.

edit: bah, no release date shipping available for GD:RB. Nevermind :|
 
I have RDR, Crackdown 2 and Halo Reach preordered, I might be getting RB3 for free depending on release and the credits' expiration dates.

With Amazon Prime's free release day delivery it's even sweeter :D , even if that option is not available it's still awesome.

In the past, the credits have been good until the end of the third month.

Well it depends on the game. Looking back at my emails Forza 3's was two months, MW2's three months, ME2's one month, etc.

...guess I'm not getting RB3 for free after all :(
 
That child actor thread is starting to piss me off. I think white knight anti-"pedo" gaf is my most hated subgroup here and that's saying a lot.

Side question: Do I want a plasma or will IR drive me to suicide? I've been eying (that's really how you spell that?) the V10 for weeks but I'm too paranoid to pull the trigger because I play a lot of video games.
 
I need some advice dudes:

So I had an interview yesterday (yay!) and the guy interviewing me was talking about how part of the job the job would have me talking to clients to help them with problems they are having with the software the company is helping them with. The interviewer then asks if I'm any good with Access, and I say yes (I haven't touched in in over a year though.). He then tells me one of the company's clients is having a problem with Access and asked me to contact him (the interviewer) so he could get me in touch with the client and fix the problem. The interviewer said I would be able to get compensated for this. The only problem I'm having is if I should e-mail him or not, even though I'm not fully sure I could find a solution, being a little out of practice with Access and all.

That's what it sounded like to me too. It's a little odd.

I have to go see them again tomorrow and their gonna show me and the other guys who interviewed the application software they are using, and are doing that to gauge whether or not we want to work for them.

That's why I'm so conflicted about it. On one hand, if I do it, they would most likely think of me more highly and want me as an employee more, but on the other hand, doing their job as some kind of indirect freelancer doesn't sound right.

They put you in a crappy spot. You want the job so you gotta be careful how you handle it but on the other hand it's completely inappropriate for them to ask you to do work when you're there for a frickin' interview. Guess you could say something half in jest like; "When I get the job it'll be the first thing I take care of!"

I would do it in a heartbeat. In the real business world you do work all of the time that you're not directly compensated for. The gesture of offering compensation is actually more important than the money involved. If you're halfway decent and have worked with Access in the past it won't take long to find a solution on the internet. If it turns out that the amount of work they're asking you to do is significant I would think twice about working there.

The problem I have now is that they asked me to do this and I haven't even been hired yet.

Thinking about it more, you'll probably need to do it if for no other reason than to show you're a cool dude and willing to go out of your way, but still... it's a bad beginning to the relationship and in poor judgement that they even asked you to.

Me too. If he needs the work and wants the job though... saying something along the lines of what I wrote, the dude could take offense and be like "no one said you had the job" or simply not hire him because he said something about it. Tough call, really.
