I had the impression that "Back to basics" was going back to big ol' rock anthems. But maybe it's all the shitty gimmicky stuff of GHIII they were referring to.

Wait, GH6 has open notes in guitar? Fucking awesome.

There's no reason to be sour pusses about the whole thing. We all bought GH4 and 5 and we will all end up buying 6 no matter how stupid it is.

Didn't buy GH5, and didn't buy World Tour either. I won it at a local tournament. Activision hasn't seen my munnies since GHIII, which I only bought because of the sweet wireless guitar.

Only bought GH5 because of a) the guitar, which ironically broke after a few months and b) no RB3.

[Guitar Hero has] gone for back-to-basics metal and rock that'll have you spitting chunks of grit out of your mouth rather than slick mainstream appeal.

If it has an excellent setlist I'll probably rent it, maybe even buy if the game drops in price quickly and RB3's setlist and DLC suck.

The article confirms Kiss, Queen and Black Sabbath on the main setlist too.

KISS <3

I wonder what song they're going to use? I swear to god, if they use the Symphony version of Let Me Go Rock & Roll, I will FLIP out!

Stopped after 3.

That's why GH6 has finger killers such as Tick, Tick, Boom and Money for Nothing.

hell no bro. ME2 takes a dog dookie on ME1. I actually find ME1 to be unplayable and I'm glad they took out alot of the RPG fluff that the first one had.

Lol you mainstream gamer you.

Should I get Dragon Age for 2000 Goozex points? I know it is practically a scam at that price, but I have 3100 points lying around.

I'm waiting for the DA:O GotY edition so I can buy it and never finish it. They haven't announced one, but you know that shit is coming.

Ok, another question. If I got DA:O for the PC off Goozex and it doesn't have The Stone Prisoner DLC, can I buy it or am I shit out of luck?

I'm not familiar with the Goozex points system but DA is a damn fine game. One of my top 10 of last year.

On the console side you can buy the Stone Prisoner DLC, I'm sure it's the same thing on PC.

GH6 is a GH3 sequel. Archie destroyed, you may as well just bank everything I say.

Have you all seen the scans? Your characters turn in to fucking demons. And no celebrities. Yeah boi. And a story!

Oh, it has Black Sabbath too, Archie destroyed again, Sabbath are GH exclusive, clearly

What more could I want than having Gene Simmons narrate my quest to become the greatest pig demon of all time in a rhythm game?

Guitar Hero 6 sounds like garbage. The only thing that can save it now is a good tracklist and them fixing their sloppy engine.

Yeah, we should have an epic career mode that consists of you replaying the same 30 songs half a dozen time while you move through arenas that are barely distinguishable from one another instead.

I'm sure they'd rather not get into any more litigation problems like they did with No Doubt.

Well, litigation problems that they'd lose.

They're just more interested in the musical skills of their artists nowadays, hence Megadeth just contributing music. Activision are very much a company based around respecting art, not like Harmonix and their Lego raping of dead people.

Unless you have a ton of DLC, something that isn't even possible with Guitar Hero. The repeating songs over and over was only a problem for me in RB1, by the time RB2 rolled around I had tons of songs to keep it way more varied than one single game ever could. For RB3 I'll have more than double the songs Guitar Hero 6 will have if you own all the DLC and have imported. Nice try though! Also, we'll see how "epic" this career is. Throwing a pig demon skin on my character and letting me hit 6x multiplier is not "epic".

9:02 PM - TheGreatDave: Sabbath are in GH6. Guess you got destroyed again
9:03 PM - archie4208: i bet you $1 sabbath will be in rb3
9:03 PM - TheGreatDave: OK

It makes perfect sense to make definitive statements comparing a game with a two page preview to one that has yet to be revealed. Perfect! The trolling in this thread is mind-boggling sometimes.

Having a lot of DLC doesn't stop RB2 still trying to get you to replay a lot of shit in BWT. I know because I've played it. It's rubbish.

Hopefully RB3 gets rid of it. I'm still very high on RB3, I honestly expect to like both games. But at least GH is doing something with the career mode that's actually a bit different, and given how much people loved the rock challenges in Lego RB, anything they can be kinda like that (like playing out a story of sorts behind the song) is a cool thing.

GH6 a proper GH3 sequel or RB3 a half assed Music Game instructional software by Dhani Harison?

I kno wwhat i want.
Well you are certainly building a compelling argument against GH6.

I've played it too, I didn't notice that much of a problem, especially if you didn't go out of your way to play one song then find a setlist it was in. If they ape the Lego RB rock challenges then cool, that's a good idea to steal. I just highly doubt this quest system will result in a satisfying "story" of any sort, at best it will probably be a piss poor excuse for a story with entertaining set pieces.

GH3 is only the greatest selling music game of all time. Activision needs to market it as such. A SEQUEL TO THE GREATEST SELLING MUSIC GAME IN HISTORY.

I'm not expecting a good story, I'm just expecting some fun visuals and a slightly different way of playing through 80 songs. I didn't like Lego RB but I loved the rock challenges like Ghostbusters, and if they have that Ouendan/Gitaroo Man style background visual during some songs I'll be happy.

Hey, were you in the viral meeting too?

Hooray for assumptions based on vague articles and personal bias! Again, there has been a two page article on GH6 in which they claimed to be harkening back to, shockingly, the best selling game in the series and there has been zero definitive information on Rock Band 3.

Point conceded then, I thought you actually believed it was going to result in a good story:lol

It obviously won't be "good". I hope it's sorta funny in an over the top way. Lars as a pig.

Unless they fix that horrible drum engine (I really doubt it) then no it won't.

I played tons of GH drums yesterday. Nothing wrong with it. They could do with improving the visual aspect of it but the timing is fine.
