Turns on 360...red rings...turns it off...turns it on....red ring again...turns it on...works fineMcBradders said:In bizarro world, sure.
Ahhh.. That makes sense.TheGreatDave said:1Up thought GH Lars was Metallica Lars, because they're stupid and uncultured.
You don't know it will be shitty. What if David Bowie pops up as Ziggy and you play through Rise and Fall with him introducing each song? Then it's GOTY, and you look foolish.McBradders said:It's a waste of time and money. Neversoft could be doing GUN 2 but nooooo they're stuck adding a story to Guitar Hero.
Fuckin' A.
TheGreatDave said:Do you really think it'll be that simple?
Here's a suggestion. What if one power gave you a max of a 6x multiplier, one gave you double SP when you hit a section, and one gave you bonus points for a notestreak. Which power would get you the most points if you FC'd Fury of the Storm?
McBradders said:More Cowboy games = a good thing.
So you be quiet!
David Bowie is RB exclusive.TheGreatDave said:You don't know it will be shitty. What if David Bowie pops up as Ziggy and you play through Rise and Fall with him introducing each song? Then it's GOTY, and you look foolish.
You're assuming there will be one power that's superior to every single other one based on only knowing one power. I've already suggested some others that would be better or worse depending on your skill level or the type of song. For me, a max of 6x for Dragonforce would be useless cos I won't get a 50 note streak very often, what if there was a power where my minimum multiplier was always 2x? There's plenty of stuff they can do beyond "megapower that always gives most points".Ridley327 said:You're really expecting Neversoft to go through and make sure everything's kosher, even after all of the un-patch-able stuff that happened in GH5? Surely, you jest.

Do we need to stick a or ® anywhere?TheGreatDave said:BTW guys, it's called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, not GH6, so if you can get the branding right it'll really help me out, thx.
Lame title. Should of stuck with GH6.TheGreatDave said:BTW guys, it's called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, not GH6, so if you can get the branding right it'll really help me out, thx.

TheGreatDave said:Numbers are a bad idea. I'm not entirely sure "Warriors Of Rock" is a good idea, but it at least doesn't sound completely out of date within 9 months.
McBradders said:It was completely out of date in 1978.
Consistency and continuity are good things.TheGreatDave said:Numbers are a bad idea.
""One specific quest challenge we saw was KISS' "Love Gun". As you play the song, your character fires bullets out of his guitar to slay marauding vikings. Fail the song, and your avatar is toast!"

Archie said:Your character no longer gets booed off the stage if he fails a song. He now gets MURDERED.
From laughing so hard?TheGreatDave said:Harmonix must be shitting their pants.
JonathanEx said:Idiots are going to confuse Legends of Rock with Warriors of Rock.
I wonder if that's intentional, Activision going "well GH3 did well... I wonder why? SUBTITLE! It works for Modern Warfare."
Archie said:From laughing so hard?
Sales of GH3 will skyrocket when dumb soccer moms go pick up that "new Guitar Hero with Rock in the title" for little Timmy on the way home. Genius, Activision!JonathanEx said:Idiots are going to confuse Legends of Rock with Warriors of Rock.
Neversoft is stealing more HMX innovations. When will the plagiarism stop?TheGreatDave said:Lego RB tried this stuff and just got destroyed in a single sentence.
I do not care about story in a Guitar Hero game. However, I don't mind story in a Tony Hawk game at all.McBradders said:Adding "story" to Tony Hawk was the beginning of the end. The jumping of the shark, as it were. Nobody gives a fuck about this shit. Nobody. And if someone in this thread here says "I do", well, you're a fucking liar. There are exactly 2 things that make a music game;
1. The setlist
2. The charts
If you nail these two things, then you are done. DONE. World Tour modes, character creation, score tables, hell, even stars. These matter to such an tiny number of people who lay out the money for your game you may as well not even fucking bother.
Unfortunately I am one of those people who do not matter but would likely not lament anything being lost outside of a good setlist and good charting once my initial sadness dissipated.

Actually, for casuals, the engine really doesn't matter. Charts really don't matter that much either, as most of them don't progress past Medium.Ashour said:Fixed

Things to make a music game:
1. The name on the box
Archie said:Fixed. Otherwise, RB would have destroyed GH.
You rebought songs you already own. Some platform.TheGreatDave said:Realistically, casuals care about advertising and price. Not much else. I doubt there's that many people who go through all 80 tracks in a game and decide if they want to purchase it based on that.
Also, the new Aerosmith charts for GH DLC are great, Beenox win again.
Archie said:You rebought songs you already own. Some platform.
Yeah, I was thinking about the players who play the game more than 2 times a month.XShagrath said:Actually, for casuals, the engine really doesn't matter. Charts really don't matter that much either, as most of them don't progress past Medium.

Then you would be mostly correct.Ashour said:Yeah, I was thinking about the players who play the game more than 2 times a month.
fixed for realityTheGreatDave said:Edit: It's interesting to note GH:WoR already has a fair bit of Warner music. Rebuying Warner songs, yeah boi.
Archie said:fixed for reality
smh.TheGreatDave said:Good enough.
McBradders said:You're all fools for debating my points.
I am right, you are all quibbling over crumbs. CRUMBS. Crumbs matter not.
Setlist does not mean every song is a winner. All you need is Sweet Child O' Mine or equivalent in a sea of turgid shit and you too can sell more games than your eyes could see in a single glance.
Ashour said:smh.
TheGreatDave said:When the GH:M export pack comes out, costing less than the Lego export, I'll sit on my throne and laugh.
Cahill said:Can we export all the WT songs yet?
TheGreatDave said:No, blame Warner and Sony.
Ridley327 said:M3wthr33 mentioned on SA that exports are effectively dead, which is why we've been seeing them re-sell songs from the packs. Granted, it is M3wthr33, but he actually does work in the industry.
