I'll have RDR on 360 today if anyone wants to try this posse thing. I really don't know much about the online aspect. If there's actually a point to playing (unlocks) I'm all over it though.

How can you tell? Can you make your game avatar look like a member of a Disney jailbait show?
I switched to my other RB CAC when we played last time so you wouldn't get too creeped out.

This is such an easy thing for you to weasel out of since Band Hero 2 will probably export.

Probably.

If there isn't an export pack for a game that came out before Guitar Hero 5 released before December, I'll take a year ban. This includes: More songs from GH:WT, more songs from GH:SH, GH:M, GH:VH, GH:3 or GH:M. Bookmark it, bitch, I'm a man of faith.

Brought a friend. Could do with more, though, for sure.

And she's 25, Dave, hardly jailbait :(

Wasn't she like, 12 when you met her or something? They all get too old eventually :(

Can't wait to pay again to export them for GH7.

TheGreatDave: What the hell is the RB DLC this week, just a shitload of Grateful Dead?
archie4208: welcome to last friday
TheGreatDave: Wow, watching the charts now.
TheGreatDave: Harmonix have totally decided they hate HOPOs
TheGreatDave: Their charts have changed so much since RB1.

Rock Band thread: c/d?
What the fuck does this even mean? Honestly, are they mistreating them or something? Am I completely missing something in the charts that shows a distaste for HOPO's?

Back in the RB1 days, you'd have super long sections that were HOPOs for next to no reason. Stuff like the intro to GGaHT and Welcome Home's solo. Over the years (mainly since RB2 came out) they've started charting I guess in a more accuate way, more riffs require you to strum a lot of notes. Not saying it's a bad thing. I guess a lot of it has to do with when they introduced manual HOPO placement.

As long as it's not random strums in the middle of HOPO sequences, I'm okay. I hate that shit, even if it may be accurate. My brain just doesn't see that non-HOPO in there, and I always fuck it up.

inb4 Gems > Rectangles.

You like PSO... that makes us brothers. :D

Theres a part in Lost Planet 2 that seriously was reminding me of PSO (environment wise) in chaper 5 or 6. And yeah McBradders is right, don't even bother playing without other people. I have 3 other friends that bought it and I met this crazy dude from Ireland on there that plays all the time, so I usually have a couple of people to play with and it's a lot of fun. I've barely tried the competitive though, from what I played I didn't really like it.

I actually think Harmonix have made the game more challenging and realistic in the way they do HOPOs. I always liked in GH3 that it felt like HOPO placement was more realistic (considering the competition) and modern RB charts go in that direction too. To the point where some RB charts feel obviously "early" by comparison. Which was my point, more than "harr harr Harmonix sux"

I've not had any real beef with rectangles since Harmonix innovated and put hyperspeed in Rock Band. But in the RB1 days, you better believe rectangles were shitty. And I still prefer gems overall, although only slightly.

I don't play with randoms (private games only 99% of the time). I know a couple folks who are getting it, so I should be OK. I, unlike most, enjoyed LP's multi-player because as I said, I play with friends and didn't have to deal with ass-hats abusing get-up animations, etc. Was a ton of fun... I expect I'll like 2's multi as well.

BTW: I had a Friend request on Live for you for like a month. You never accepted... jerk :lol

Sorry dude, I moved and don't have a phone jack close to my 360 anymore and I really really don't want to buy the adapter.

I was also refering to the single player campaign, you NEED friends to play with, and for the most part all the randoms I've played with have had headsets and been surprisingly cool. Except this one guy last night, he was a consumate professional or something :lol He was like "Hey grab that shield I'll show you something you don't know" me: the sheild can shoot a beam" Him: Oh you already know. Then later a VS with sword was kicking our asses and he had a VS that could self destruct and he says "Oh you think you're tough(AI) Initiate destruct sequence! Did I kill it?" Me: No. Him: aww damn, holy shit its 1 am I gotta go!/endscene.

:lol @ story.

I got what you meant about the campaign... will be co-oping with friends. Was just saying I enjoyed multi. and am looking forward to it in 2 as well.

After watching all the Grateful Dead songs, I'm going to agree with Dave.

This part would be fun 2 years ago
I don't know...throwing in random HOPO's into there and Touch of Grey's solos would just seem pointless, especially with Grateful Dead's sound and the ability to really hear every pick. They still HOPO slurs and grace notes, though.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with charting accurately as long as it maintains playability.

HOW DOES SHIELD SHOOT BEAM!?!!!!!!!11

Start+Select when equipped, takes 2000 T eng. Also I spent about 30 mins trying to combine those fucking VS's it's so damn convoluted. You have to have 2 very specifically different VS and click in on both sticks and pull them apart when near the other one and then you can combine. You do get a fucking godly DEATH RAY that one shots any VS.

When playing guitar alone it doesn't matter to me, but when I play drums Gems are hell especially if there's some crazy section with a lot of fills. Also when playing full band, gems are harder to see.

Do you use hyperspeed?

Sweet there is another song by Evile on RBN. Hope this one doesn't rape my strum bar as much as thrasher did.

EDIT: It must not be up yet as it errors when I try to get it from RBN store. Damn :(

GH3 sold so well because it was coming off of GH2 which started to gain steam for the genre. Setlist, charts, or anything else didn't really matter. It doesn't matter what anyone tries, no one is touching GH3's sales.
