My friends and I were ALL legit and farmed the shit outta that game for each other :)

I got up to I think 76 Hildetorr's on my Blueful and never got the Heaven's punisher though :(

Nope. Not lying. There were 3 or 4 of us (real life friends) that always played together in closed games.
 
RBN officially a success

…At least according to Rock Band Network Executive Producer Jeff Marshall. And I would think he probably knows what he’s talking about.

Billboard caught up with Jeff at the Liverpool Sound City music and business conference, who was able to get some very cool RBN details out of him.

Throughout play testing, peer review, and available for sale, there’s approximately 400 songs in the Rock Band Network, based on a user base of about 700 people who have signed up for the ‘premium creators membership’ with Microsoft’s Creator’s Club. Jeff mentioned that interest and subscription to the Rock Band Network has been “growing at a pace that we’re really happy with,” and that for every two people that access and interact with a free demo track, one purchase is made.

Billboard is also reporting that besides the PS3, content from the Rock Band Network Music Store will soon be made available on the Wii, as well as the Rock Band mobile application. I’m assuming he means the currently available iPhone app, but possibly something else entirely…

Jeff also stated that approximately 24 million people worldwide play Rock Band, with over 70 million downloads from the regular Rock Band store.

You know that one of them will be on RB3's setlist, though.

Great Southern Trendkill was probably one of the last things I would have expected to come to the game, but it's always had a pretty devout following from fans despite the direction they took with the record as compared to their previous work.
 
Are these going to be some of the most heavily edited songs in dlc history? Besides Sir Psycho Sexy if I remember anything from listening to that song in grade school.

Maybe. But then if we get, say, Walk, how will HMX release their other hits? Through some 6 or 12-pack with their bigger songs? Why aren't they doing that now instead of releasing an album no one but diehard fans really want?

Suicide Note Pt. 1 is mostly ambiance, but it does have a nice vocal performance from Phil.

I'm guessing that Harmonix didn't want to put out a song that had only two instruments available for it.

Yeah, it is pretty repetitive on guitar and they'd have to cut the intro out, but it would be so fun to sing.

I'll buy the whole album.
 
Heavy rock legends Pantera are making their Rock Band debut next week in a big way, by bringing fan-favorite album, The Great Southern Trendkill, to the Rock Band Music Library. Pantera formed in Texas in 1981 and has been named to VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and MTV’s “Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All Time,” and has sold more than 8 million albums in the United States. The Great Southern Trendkill was released in 1996, as the band’s eighth studio album, reached No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 and was declared platinum in August 2004. “Floods,” featured on The Great Southern Trendkill, contains a guitar solo that Guitar World voted its 15th Greatest Guitar Solo of All-Time.

Pantera released a greatest hits collection in March 2010, titled 1990-2000: A Decade of Domination, which is available exclusively at Walmart and contains 10 remastered tracks. Additionally, former Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul is set to release an album called Stampede from Hellyeah, his collaboration with members of Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface, in July.

I'm excited but again, I'm pretty worried about the editing. Singing it will be fine since I can fill in the words, but just jamming on guitar will probably be a bit weird.

I'd say it's probably their most introspective record they ever put out (thanks to the bounty of demons that Phil was battling with at the time), so it isn't a full-steam ass-kicker like their previous records.

It's also the first time they recorded an album separately. Phil was really off his rocker and did all the vocals elsewhere after the music was recorded.
 
So glad Pantera is out. I can't decide whether to get the full album or not. Not having Suicide Note I kinda ruins the completist vibe for me. Awesome, awesome, awesome DLC next week, though.

So far this year we have received 4 albums:

-Rust in Peace
-Axis Bold as Love
-Tragic Kingdom Deep Cuts
-The Great Southern Trendkill

also GD:RB will give us 3 more albums (Dookie, AI and 21st CBD)

but but but Dave told me that albums were dead.
