Your musical compatibility with Zeroska is Very High
Music you have in common includes Rx Bandits, Big D and the Kids Table, Mad Caddies, The Forces of Evil and I Voted For Kodos.

I don't use last.fm very much at all so I'm surprised I have anything but low compatibility with anyone here.

anybody who will play drums for the first time should buy RB1, its progression is just perfect...to the point that Wont Get Fooled Again feels like the "graduation" song.

this is exactly why 3 years from now everyone will be saying:

"anybody who will play keyboard for the first time should buy Rock Band 3, its progression is just perfect... to the point that Butterflies and Hurricanes feels like the "graduation" song."

Unless they use the shitty WT for progression.

HEY! HARMONIX! Do you hear me? Single player "ladder" style!

Ok, posting from my new iPad, trying this thing out and it seems to type pretty quickly if I set it up correctly...so, now what d I do with this? Isn't there some sort of Rock Band game for it? Or is that for the iPhone? Or is that the same thing...

Oh, and it looks like it went back and anally corrected my capitalization in the words iPad and iPhone....idouche.

fail.

I don't know if the Rock Band game for the iPhone/iPod Touch will work on the iPad. If it does, you should get it. It's pretty cool.

Have you checked if it works on iSketch yet?

iSketch is flash, so that's a no-go....until Apple figures out how to do simple things.

Why wouldn't he? We get such a terrible name change for the best thread ever. This is an outrage.

Rock Band 2 has shipped. yay.

I've had it since the longest on 360, but since that's been hitting the bucket so much, I decided to just let my cousin borrow the 360 for the whole year.

McBradders, awesome! :D

I don't think we're asking for a name change every week...just a better name than this generic boring one. I can't even tell where this thread is at the main page whenever I browse the gaming forum sometimes.

Edit:

You can't play iSketch on the iPad? Aww. What a missed opportunity.

700 replies on that Morgan Webb thread? Wooooow. Why am I not surprised.

I'm in the same position as ChoklitReign, trying to move from medium guitar to hard guitar.

So far I've done the following:

GHII - Easy and Medium 5*
GHIII - Easy and Medium 5*
GH:WT - Easy and Medium 5*
GH:A - Easy and Medium 5*
GHM - Easy and Medium 5*
GH5 - Just started out on Medium from the getgo - 5*
RB1 - Easy and Medium 5*
RB2 - 1/2 Medium 5* (mostly play quickplay)
LRB - Medium - 5*
TB:RB - Medium Bass - 5* (I was playing co-op with my GF and she was Guitar)

I recently started back on GHII on hard, and have been getting consitent 3-4*, that is of course until I came across "Woman". I've managed an all time high of 78% before failing.

It hurts both my hands and my soul.

I've been told that RB Hard is the equivalent of GH Medium (only with Orange notes thrown in) so I'm seriously considering holding off on GHII for a bit and starting back off on RB till I get more used to that orange fret being there.

Unfortunately, thanks to my compulsive nature, I will have to get 5* on RB before moving on and going through all of the other games again on hard to 5* everything on them too. I hate being like this sometimes, but at least I'll never be bored.

OK XEVREN! I'm going out of town for a wedding this weekend. So you better work on getting well. I'll be thinking of you man. Bebedora should be able to keep me updated so you better have some good news to tell me.

The RB Hard = GH Medium is pretty much bullshit. Both series have their easy songs, and both have their challenging songs. Early on, there was some shit charting in the GH series done in order to up the difficulty, but that has pretty much gone by the wayside.

As for the transition...moving from Medium to Hard is the most difficult transition in the game for guitarists. If you really wanted to do it incrementally, I'd do it as follows:

First, your 'home' position for your left hand should be index on red. This is vital to make this move a smooth one. Unless it's impossible, have index take care of red and green, and have middle on yellow, ring on blue, and pinky on green.

Second, to get used to the new position, start out playing hard bass on medium tier songs. This will almost always provide you with a single note track with repeating patterns.

Third, play strum-fest songs (Foo Fighters, Green Day, etc) to get comfortable with chord fingerings. There are only 15 different chords, so understanding how each is fingered can be a great help.

Finally, when moving from bass to guitar, start by using training to practice solos. This will be similar to bass, in that it'll usually be single-note tracks, but this time they won't repeat. It'll also usually throw in a few chords, so you can get used to moving between them and melody lines.

Now, as I said, that's incremental...cut out or shorten any steps you deem fit.

The RB game is for iphone but all iphone games are compatible with ipad...they just run in a tiny ass window. You can stretch it to 2x the size but then it gets all blurry and ugly.

This is gonna be the hardest thing I think, because I've spent so long with index on Green that as soon as I move to reach the orange I complete lose track of which finger is over which fret. It certainly is humbling going from having no problem at all getting 5 stars on anything to being a complete un-coordinated fuckwit.

Guess all I can do is keep on keeping on cos life's a garden, dig it.

I don't think my fingers are flexible enough for this. :(

You guys care about a prelim list of songs from Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock or should I make a new thread?

This might be pretty obvious to most people, but for any struggling guitarist about to move on to Hard: play the songs you love on Medium and try to really nail them. Play because it's fun and don't frustrate yourself with boring songs on higher difficulties just to prove yourself. Once you're 5-staring things on Medium the transition won't be as hard.

I remember back on GH1 how I'd keep returning to More Than a Feeling, Killer Queen and Texas Flood on Medium after having my ass handed to me on Hard. So satisfying to go back and see that you're skills had actually improved and you were hitting parts that were giving you a hard time before.

Fucking abysmal setlist. Nothing but RB leftovers, shitty metal and live versions of iconic classic rock songs. Fail.

The trailer is one of the worst things I've ever seen; the only thing it has going for it is Children of the Grave.

Hoooooooooooooly shit, this is ridiculous.

The trailer is absolutely terrible.

I still dig that transformations shit though. Just...don't present it in such an awful way.

We need more Modest Mouse. "Dashboard" is a good starting point.
This guy has a good head on his shoulders. And is smart enough to not suggest The Lonesome Crowded West or something for the first release. Gotta start off simple and draw people in with the songs they know, then release the good shit.
