It looks pretty daunting, but that's actually fairly easy on the guitar, depending on tempo of course.

That's not the real-tar though is it? I haven't read any of the articles yet.Baker said:Edit: And look, they did what I said. All the strings are the same gauge for lefties.
robut said:I wonder if they'll at least let you still sing? I'd hate to have to back out of a setlist because someone chose an old dlc song that doesn't have harmonies.
Naw, that's the half-tar.NameGenerated said:That's not the real-tar though is it? I haven't read any of the articles yet.
and it's not like TB:RB quickplay. I am disappoint.Ridley327 said:The Gamespot video shows off the new quickplay menu; the song info is on the right side now.

Here's realtar...

So...it's not the same gauge.

If they take a song down and update it, and you bought it before, can you download the new version? I know you can do it with official HMX DLC. It's why a few of my DLC songs don't work after doing license transfers.BigBlackGamer said:almost every rock band legacy song has cymbal charting. that is insane. It sucks that RBN is assed out. I'm tempted NOT to buy any RBN songs now.![]()
.The track actually winds back now when you pause.

Oh wow.Though the whole idea for Rock Band since its original release has been that it's more of a platform unto itself than a series of individual games, the additions in Rock Band 3 appear to be totally worthy of an all-new piece of software. It'll also be compatible with all of your existing exported or downloaded Rock Band tracks, though older tracks won't suddenly receive vocal harmonies, keyboards, or pro guitar parts. Also, it's worth noting that due to changes in the file formats Harmonix is using for downloadable content, song packs released after RB3's release won't work in Rock Band 2, effectively putting an end to continued support for the first two games in the series.

I just downloaded them. Didn't think of adding an exception :lolBaker said:Turn off adblock, that made them work for me.
I haven't read a single mention of voxtar yet.![]()
Ridley327 said:Gerstmann seems to be confirming that RB3 DLC won't work with RB1/2. Sad, but perhaps not all that surprising.

TheGreatDave said:It's very, very surprising. I guess it makes sense in the way that the audio files will be chopped up in such a way that they may not make sense in RB2, but they should just release two versions of the song, one for Rb3 and one for RB1+2. Not cos I really care all that much personally, but they're just throwing money away.

I mean, what are you strumming and pressing. Do those numbers refer to a certain button?

That's exactly how you would learn how to play a song on real guitar. It's just usually you can learn at your own pace, not in real time while the song is kicking your ass. :lolChoklitReign said:I think pro mode was made for autistic people.

I'm 95% leaning towards realtar now. However, the pessimist in me can almost guarantee the fuckers will break after a couple weeks.TheGreatDave said:I think I'll probably pick up the Halftar at some point. It's a reasonable price, and I'm happy to try it out and see if I can learn some skills.
I'm very disappointed that they're apparently not doing Pro Bass (according to Archie in the chat). Very, very, very disappointed.
I have a feeling that the only reason they can do legacy for drums is due to the animations matching what is actually played. If the drum animations in the RBN stuff is actually fine, then I'm 99% certain that it will work in Pro mode just fine.BigBlackGamer said:you think RBN authors will go back and re-chart for pro modes? that would be awesome if they did. I doubt it though.![]()
Truecorkscrewblow said:They really have no reason to do a pro bass mode. Most of the songs they pick for bass are the same 3 notes strummed through the whole song.
Baker said:It's also going to be uber-annoying on songs that aren't played in standard E because you will be able to hear the noise coming from the guitar conflicting with the actual song. I'm not going to retune the guitar mid-setlist.
Ridley327 said:It being a demo, I can't imagine they'd have any reason to show the quickplay leaderboards. They've already confirmed them for the game, so you've got nothing to worry about.
TheGreatDave said:It's not just a case of me wanting them in the game, I want them implemented exactly like Beatles, that is, if I scroll through songs, I see the leaderboard as soon as I hover on a track. It's not the end of the world if I have to press a couple of buttons to see it, but it's a step back for me.
All this stuff sounds negative, but it's just easier to nitpick. Game looks awesome obviously (before Archie comes in here still PMS'ing if you say anything negative).
